Thanks. Missed that. For what he was asking, he ought to have tried for an extract.

Unless the extract itself has a changed digit or two. :whistling:

In that case, there’d be no point in his asking for an extract.

Btw, the Chrono ad says nothing about the numbers not matching. I wonder if the seller got called out on eBay about the non match and corrected his ad.

This was interesting. Looking forward to seeing what the morning crew, on the other side of the planet, will make of this when they get to it.

Interesting.. I placed a bid for this one but I notice now the difference between the sn of the watch and the extract..
I have to say that I bought some Omegasfrom this seller ( outside of Ebay) and I've always received what I paid.

I am not sure that I see anything here which couldn't be explained by different level of wear and polish.

The issue of the serial number is noted in the description. The seller basically said "here's a watch on chrono24 that is one digit off, so this one must be legit too" , but it was clearly stated that the extract was not for the watch for sale on eBay .

Just curious how to explain the spacing between the seemonster and the word flightmaster by the level of polishing ? And the fact that the seehorses on those two pics are not aligned the same way Vs the word flight master ?

Good question @Fost. Perhaps I have the answer.

Below is another example of a no FAP caseback. I think the distance between the monster and wording is more similar to the eBay (and now my) example shown 3rd below. It appears there was more than one version of caseback engraving.

Edit: Presuming further, in order to allow space for “FAP”, that version has “Flightmaster”, the Seamonster and Omega logo shifted a bit higher toward the caseback edge. Both versions appear to be properly centered on their respective caseback.

Here is an FAP engraved example from Chrono24. Was listed here and withdrawn in 2016

Yes ,the watch was mine, i sold the watch in "original" state to another dealer (dealer Price according to condition)

replacement bezel as the Bakelite was missing ,different Dial as it was repainted.

What the buyer did with the watch was another history.

Changed the Dial twice as i bought it with a White repainted dial.
The Bakelite was missing and replaced it with a Aluminium self made bezel, bad copy but i was happy with it .

note : i collect FAP as i am peruvian ,thats why i put them with hight Prices .
