Sure, because they are taking you to something that is live that you can buy, which is what their platform is for.

But when you click on the link in the blue bar, it takes you to the original listing, is that right?

A bit like that one extra click, then...

Not really...not even a bit...

Not a realistic suggestion.

Why is someone holding a gun to your head to use eBay?

Like all threads complaining about policies and problems with eBay, PayPal, Omega, Rolex, etc. they really don't accomplish anything. You could try complaining directly to these entities, but companies usually only listen to one thing...the sound of money. If it stops rolling in, they may eventually take notice. By continuing to use their platform, you continue to endorse their policies...vote with your wallet.

Sometimes you don't get the link - it seems that it randomly either sends you to the old interface with the link, or to the new interface (where you have to click for "more details" to even see the item you selected) with no link

OP's link contains the eBay item number: 253651505616. If you do a standard search for that number on eBay you get nothing. If you do an advanced search on that number you get nothing. If you do an advanced search on that number and check the "completed listings" box you get the case in question. Here's that link:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nk...n=-1&saslc=1&_salic=1&_sop=10&_dmd=1&_ipg=200

@Archer: Watch lovers use eBay because it is, by several orders of magnitude, the largest vintage watch market in the world. And no one is holding a gun to your head and making you read through tedious eBay threads on OF, mate.

I understand people are reporting that - I've never had it happen personally, and I was just trying to figure out what dennisthemenace was referring to when he said the same things happens to him - wondering what the "same thing" was that he was referring to...

The pushers look like they are for 105.003. I'm curious if they can be replaced by the smaller pushers that fit ref 2915, 2998 and 105.002, and that maybe why it went for so much money.

Ah! I was watching that case too. When I last looked at it, an hour before it finished, it was still at something like 660 pounds.

More often than not, there is no blue bar.

As far as I've observed, 2998 and earlier are screw in and 105.003 are press in. Or is it the other way? In any event, they are not the same.

I'm not a gambling man but I'll wager $5 it's all to do with what eBay software is on the server that processes your request. In other words eBay are experimenting with this 'feature' in different territories. A/B testing. Which is why we're getting different experiences.

Well this kinda derailed, but I guess the consensus is that it's price is appropriate for todays market and the case is not really special.

Threads complaining about eBay and PayPal seem to be forum staples, so I get that they won't go away, but honestly they get pretty tiring...

Complaining posts that change nothing about complaining posts that change nothing. The irony of it.

Regarding voting with my wallet, It's obvious nonsense to suggest any watch collector can boycott ebay. Is witholding my custom going to hurt them? I think not. Am I going to do that on a point of principle? Of course I'm not.

Am I going to mention things about ebay that I don't like? Yes, if I think they are going to resonate with anyone else here. I have no problem with substantive criticism of my posts (honestly!) but vague moaning about them on the grounds that they are just vague moans is a bit much. If you don't like my posts, skim over them! And I don't want to live in a world where we only ever speak up to accomplish something. We'd all be Mr. Spocks living on the planet Vulcan and that could get quite boring.
