My wife and I were in Houston last week for her birthday and went to the Galleria to do a little shopping, the Swatch store had the MoonSwatch display box with all nine watches in the window, but I have no idea which ones they had to sell. We both thought, meh, not worth $260 for a plastic watch. It is amazing that these watches caused such mania worldwide, especially among the Omega cognescenti. Classic herd mentality.

My son is 19. He now wears my 3570.50 on the Omega black velcro strap and he and LOVES the Mars Moonswatch. He thinks they are a lot of fun. He wants to wear both of them.

They are kind of like getting a good McDonald's Happy Meal toy. Much more whimsy than those 4 Hodinkee Nomos 38s.

I popped into Swatch Times Square last week and quite a few were readily available. I queued for maybe 10-15 minutes - only 4 people in front of me &, when I got mine, there were just 2 behind me.

I was only interested in a Mars and didn't ask about others. Salesperson had already put one aside for me because they were almost out.

Of course, it's nothing like any of my 'real' Moonwatches but, in that bright red & white colorway, it's kinda fun and I'll use it as a holiday watch

I was passing by the Covent Garden store in London and saw a small queue. I joined the queue and it transpired it was the queue for the MoonSwatch. I bought one. The store manager said they getting stock everyday now. So it seems it is getting easier to get hold of.

I got lucky and was able to pick up a Jupiter back in July in NYC. I literally walked in when they got the shipment, but they didn't have the Neptune. It's not bad for what it is, but still loving the FOIS over it obviously.

Belated Xmas present from a good friend!:

Going to see if I can turn this into a fun game of always getting a <$250 watch for each other for the holidays.

I just got Earth as well! My wife got it for me for Christmas, but it took 5 trips to the KOP Swatch store, normal supply was usually Mars, sun, and Venus. I would have waited as long as necessary for earth at MSRP.

A guy in my grad program noticed my moonswatch and said when they first came out he flipped 5 he bought opening weekend for between $600-900. Crazy people are willing to pay above MSRP. Fun watch, I wear it a lot.

People were offering $2k to those of us who stood in line and managed to get one on release day. Wild times.

As an experiment I tried popping into the Covent Garden and Oxford Street Swatch shops to see if and which versions they had available (seeing as none of the other 4 countries I have been in recently have stores). After 5 trips where deliveries had just sold out or were expected ‘later’ the only models I saw were the yellow and pink ones. What I did see though were endless customers asking if they were available - they’re able to sell every piece they get many times over at the moment.

The friend who got it for me was apparently really torn when they realized they could flip it for at least a couple hundred bucks profit. Luckily, I guess they like me more than cold, hard cash.

The OEM strap was kinda tight on me, so now I'm doing this ridiculous setup:

I almost put my Velcro NASA Velcro on mine too but I really like the OEM strap. However I do want an elastic strap without hardware. Delugs has one for $24 but with $25 shipping! Just recently found Tempomat Madrid and theirs are free shipping, but about $50 and very limited color options.

i even reached out to delugs to see if I could be a NA distributor to eliminate the high shipping fees from Singapore. Never heard back. Lol.
