Still getting to know 2374s

Hi folks,

thanks to sharp eyed forum members (@Rudi99, @ConElPueblo and @ahsposo) I dug a little further.

This time I think I got a match 馃榾
Design and dial is more in line with the 2374s observed here, with luminous markers and hands.
Case looks in good shape, with few scratches. Under cetain angle I'd say un-polished but then some of the lugs seem not as sharp? (maybe the pics?) There seems to be some sort of damages/erosion on the strap lugs? Crown is correct to me, maybe a little cleaner than the rest of the watch?
I would say the dial is original, given the patina, and the writing. I read somewhere that the lum on the hand was not done at the same time and in the same way as the lum on the hours and markers? Hence they may be of different colour with time. This being said, I think the hands stand a chance of being original.

We can't see much of the Omega Automatic writing but I feel this is a good sign. A repainted one would have freshened it up and put the emphasis on it. Then the writing seems consistent with Rudi99's watch from my previous post.

Any reason why the strap pin is protruding from the lug? Is it an incorrect one ?
Thanks again for your input, learning in progress!馃摉

Kind regards
Slev

The dial is original. The lugs are heavily corroded. The springbar is too long.

Hi Bubba,

Thanks for commenting. agreed for the corrosion; It seems someone tried to butcher the spring bars in...

Kind regards

Hi Slev,

the dial on this one does look a lot better and indeed authentic IMO. 馃榾

Altogether it does not seem a bad watch, except for the already mentioned butchered lugs, but the missing or broken lume on one of the markers would bother me a little, particularly. But some people don't mind. The fact that a """""""professional"""""""" dealer would deliberately leave the lugs like this would make me feel uneasy. It is not respectful towards you as a potential buyer and not respectful to your hard earned money.

However, I did spot something worth mentioning, since the dealer who uploaded it's fotos to C24 and to his website has a very particular way of taking fotos of his watches, and I happened to do some search and could confirm my theory.

I must in your own interest therefore show you this thread.

The dealer in question was banned from this forum multiple times, and does not enjoy a very good reputation... I almost bought a watch from him myself and was aided by people of this forum.

Just watch out (no pun intended) and be careful!

Best,

Rudi

Hi Rudi,

As before thank you for your great input.
Wow, I'm shocked by what I read on the post you provided... Really sad! You spotted well, the pictures are from the Vintage-port. website.

I mus say I questioned the lugs and the response I got was: "its just a bit of dirt and old skin-fat" end of quote.
Not sure what to respond to that.. 馃ぎ?

Thanks for your input, really appreciate your time and honesty.
I'll keep on the look out, not in a hurry

Kind regards
