At best this would only work with leather straps, not bracelets.
Suggest you learn to use a proper spring bar tool. If you're concerned tape up your lugs. Or get a professional to do it for you.

You'd be amazed how many times a so called 'professional' has left my lugs with far more scratches than I could ever manage with the 6767. Most of them in a local AD shouldn't be let within a mile of adjusting bracelets when people buy new watches.

I've never had an issue with the 6767 before on any other watch and have both the fine and normal tips for it. Even the Omega one you get with a speedy is of decent quality. This already has marks on the lugs but on a newer watch I put a gold film you can get from material houses for polishing and it is great. If you polish and area then need to satin brush next to it then it's great stuff.

Still would be better if people took a little more care. Like whoever mounted these spring bars.

Yes, agreed. I've always been fairly OK with the 6767F for all my Omegas. Let us know what occurs

When I say professional I mean a real watchmaker, not a sales clerk at an AD. I had the owners wife of the AD where I bought my Speedmaster install my leather strap when the watch was new, she obviously couldn’t find the spring bar hole and it slipped a bit and scratched the top of the lug where it is curved and brushed. Only seen with a loupe but I’ll never trust an AD to work on my watch again. Bergeon 6767F and some practice or get a watch maker to do it for you.

Kapton film is what you refer too. I use it on my watch lugs when changing bracelets but don’t bother when doing straps because I’m confident enough in my ability to do it without incident.

When I bought my brand-new Speedmaster, it needed a link added in (seller sized it before shipping). DIdn't really look at it just put it on and walked out of what I thought was a well-respected jeweller. Got it home and noticed it was dented from where the shop monkey whacked it really hard to get the pins in!

At that point, I vowed "no more" and got my own tools. Today, though, I have a watchmaker I trust.

An update for anyone that cares. I picked up my watch today. They managed to remove the spring bars without marking the already scratches up lugs and without ruining the end links. I think like Archer suggested as it looks like the ends were gently removed. They are shiny so would suggest a diamond file?

Whoever butchered it before did in fact use the smaller bars which are correct (068ST2207). I measure the inner part and compared it to known good 2207 and 2208 I have.

I quickly fitted the NATO I have and the rubber with ease. I have a deployant and orange stitched rubber strap on its way.

They also did a 10 bar dry pressure test and put the watch in a little carry case. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Bond Street Watchmaking just outside Luton, Bedfordshire if anyone UK based is interested. Ex Patek guy and does Franck Muller etc. Omega and Rolex certified.

Glad you got it fixed. I saved the store details in my Favourites in case I may need them in the future.
