    Hey all,

First post here after lurking around for quite a bit. I got myself a 38mm Aqua Terra in blue a couple of months ago and am loving the looks, versatility, and overall having a great time with the watch. I also love the idea of the moon phase complication and am looking to acquire a watch with it, so I naturally went into a near OB to try out the Speedmaster Moonphase ref. 304.33.44.52.03.001, but found it way too thick/bulky for my taste. I know there are great moon phase watches like the JLC Ultra Thin Moon and GO Panomaticlunar, but are there any watches with a "sporty" style that has a moon phase complication? Most of the watches I looked at through the moon phase threads on the forum were formal/dress style watches, and I would appreciate it greatly for any recommendations on some more sporty moon phase watches. Thank you in advance for all your inputs!

The only recommandation i'd do is to buy a winder. I imagine it takes a few moment to set everything if the watch power reserve reaches zero.

That being said, i wrote somewhere else that i was not a fan of the blue side of the moon, but this version looks very close, except the case not being blue, and that changes everything.
This watch is georgeous, perfect mix of sporty/dressy (i don't like usual dress watch) but would definitely wear bigger than your AT.

There are older Speedmaster moon phase models that are based on the manual-wind 1861 movement and in the standard Speedy Pro case. They will be smaller than the current automatic version. The white dial/blue hand version is quite attractive. They are hard to find now, but worth a look.

The JLC Polaris Perpetual Calendar has a moonphase and is sporty, but it ain’t cheap!

This would be one of the sportiest moon phases I’ve seen Omega make, the titanium German market Speedmaster 345.0810, this one was in the ebay recommended thread and is going off soon, no reserve. Not many of them are around but I don’t see the price going too much higher than it currently is. Very cool piece.

Hey, thank you for your reply. I plan on getting a nice winder maybe from a brand like Wolf when I acquire a moonphase/calendar!

Hey Donn, I took a look at the Omega ref. 3576.50.00 and am quite interested! Both the black dial and white dial version are gorgeous, but I will definitely look into them. Thanks!

And about the Polaris, it sure is beautiful but would be out of my price range as of right now! One of my grail sports watches.

Winder isn't needed on a watch like this, both moon and date functions are quickset, takes just a few seconds to reset if you haven't worn the watch in awhile.

I love the classic/vintage looks of this piece, but I guess I'm not a 100% ready yet for vintage pieces as I don't have much experience with them. Thank you nonetheless!

I definitely have my eyes set for the thinner Speedy Moonphase watches now. Thank you so much for your reply!

Not sure the quoted reference is entirely correct - see https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/watch-omega-speedmaster-german-version-ta-345-0810 to be strictly accurate it's probably one of 400-piece limited-edition ref TI 345.0810 - see https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/watches/article/omega-mark-v-teutonic :D

Nevertheless a rare beast - not sure about the claimed manufacturing date of 2010 - 19 though. Most of this sort of design are at least around 10 - 15 years earlier.

Been in love with the idea of a Moonphase Speedy for a while now and the best symmetry is still with 3576.50 with displayback for me.
