Speedy Tuesday VS. Speedy 60th anniversary. Which do you prefer?

60th. I am not fond off the minute track on the ST (and FOIS). I wanted a 2915 since collecting Speedmasters in the 90s, they were scarce even then. The 60th scratched that itch, an iconic vintage design replicated by the factory 1.1 that I could wear with abandon.

Now if only Porsche would do the same with a 73 RS...
Buy a Singer. 馃槈

Singer is priced at about 30% the value of the '73 RS. 60th is priced ~5% of a 2915-1? Pretty good deal!

Well spoken,I get to wear on my wrist an iconic watch that I could never afford to purchase the original item at a fraction of the cost with the added benefit of reliability.
Now to send an e-mail to Porsche and see if I can motivate them on that RS.

If someone advocates a let's say Rolex clone like Steinhart with the very same argument on a watch forum he is usually burned for heresy 馃槈.

Hey everyone. I recently found a nice speedy Tuesday to buy from a OF member so I would like to start off by saying that was my choice. I had the opportunity to buy the 60th from a Canadian omega dealer and it would have cost me $10,000 Canadian but i passed. I ended up paying the same $10,000 Canadian for the Speedy Tuesday on the pre-owned market (10k CAD = 8k US, 6k pounds).

The main reason I decided on the Speedy Tuesday is that i like it more. Which makes sense. And, my next big purchase will likely be an ED White if I can locate a nice example which will give me a similar vintage feel to the speedy 60th. I think they did a very good job on the speedy 60th but its just too much for me to own both at this time. I am also admittedly slow to warm up to vintage reissues. I also have a gemini 4 and apollo 11 35th on the radar and both of those hold more interest to me.

So the question is "which do you prefer and which do you think will be more sought after in 10 years"?

Personally I think the speedy Tuesday has a lot going for it being a limited edition of only 2000 pieces, well received, and commemorating a great online movement. I think the only small downside is that the straps they include are not too great. I will be putting it on a standard speedy bracelet or my snoopy's strap. The speedy 60th is a bit of a bigger limited edition which hurts it a tiny bit. Both watches seem to be doing good in demand "resale and hype" coming out the door...we will have to see what the market looks like in a couple of years when the dust settles. Overall I have to give the speedy Tuesday a better chance of continuing to be a sought after piece well into the future. Just IMHO.

Hope everyone has a great weekend,

Josh

60th.

I like everything about SpeedyTuesday including the sentiment - but the radial subdial wackiness ruins it for me. The normal subdial inidices with the lume background would have been an improvement.

Steinhart building a Rolex clone is not Omega building an Omega

Could never be the 60th for me. Metal tachymetre bezels just look odd IMO.

I can't stand the sub dials on the Speedy Tuesday.

I really love the idea of the 60th and especially the case size.
However I find the fake patina very dull and the watch looks overall too f蠀cking shiny.

The brushed case on the ST is gorgeous, but rarely comes across in photos
