Yes, this is real - one of the "flower power" ones went to auction last year.

I agree that they're mass-produced watches and if someone wants to modify a 3570 or its successor 311.30-whatnot, let them.

I, for one, think the PVD model could be a decent alternative for a customer interested in the Dark Side of the Moon, but concerned about the size etc. Can't say I'd buy one myself, but certainly wouldn't knock someone who did!

Will they customize owned watches? I wouldn't mind a flower or two on one of my vintage pieces..

Well I don't get how it makes sense to take a $5k USD watch and then make these types of modifications. These mods look to be permanent. Flower power may be cool, but really why not take my $150 Seiko and flower the power out of that one?

I have no problem with what they are doing, I just don't see how there would even be enough demand to make this a feasible business model.

I guess there are enough people who are not hung up on the originality of a mid-level watch to make this a viable business. I personally think a lot of the aftermarket mods you can do to cars are horrible, and the car can cost a lot more than a Speedmaster does...

And about these being "permanent" some are more difficult to undo than others clearly, but the "flower power" one for example you would just need a new dial and bezel, and it looks like it would be back to being stock for a few hundred dollars.

Again I don't really understand the problem with doing this if that is what somebody wants. These modified watches always whip up such emotion on watch forums - it's quite puzzling.

I'm all for people doing whatever they want with their watches, but most of their modifications are really horrible.

To each his own, but this is definitely not my cup of tea.
