While I wait patiently for my e-mail - I'm in the 1700s - I read the various posts here with great interest and I'm especially intrigued by pianomankd's comments on legibility. I don't feel this will be a problem for me, having being 'trained' by ownership of my Breitling 816 - see how you go on trying to figure out what the hell it's reading!
What is TZ?

What does that mean if you don't mind me asking? They are not being completed/ sent in order.
I've always thought those are shining examples of industrial design. So much data in a small place and yet so easy to read and attractive at the same time.
I agree it's attractive and a favourite of mine as I've owned it for over forty years. But 'easy to read' it's not! That particular pic is very favourable to the dial - most of the time, in other than really good light, the legibility is poor. It's an amusing paradox that this should be so since it's such a great big lump of a thing. But, as now is often said, we don't buy and love these sort of watches because we need to rely on them to tell the time.
I caught myself last night when my wife asked me what time it was. It took me 4-5 seconds to figure out where the hour hand was before I could answer. The legibility is not great on the ST at all. And it's really starting to make me lean towards selling it unfortunately. The "wow I have a ST" phase is quickly leaving with this legibility issue...

I didn't mean to imply anything specific regarding the delivery schedule. I'm not following things very closely, so I'm not privy to the range of numbers delivered so far. However, I did have the impression that the movement number sequence does not equate to the delivery sequence, so though I have a 'late' number allocated I'm not necessarily assuming mine will be amongst the last 15% delivered, (though I don't mind if it's the very last!)
Please don't take this wrong way, but are you short sighted? From what I have seen in some of the posted photos the lume looks great on the ST...is this an issue with dim lighting conditions?
When I saw the ST live at the Vancouver OB I really could not see any significant issues with visibility...actually the only watch that has under performed for me in my collection in terms of visibility is the GMT hand on the BLNR in dim lighting (still love the watch).
Perhaps your reaction might have to do with expectations as well...were you expecting the visibility to be as good as a standard Speedy Pro?
It's a beautiful watch, don't get me wrong. But if the legibility of a watch for doing what it's supposed to do; tell time, is a little strange, well that's what caused me concern. Maybe I just need to get used to it.....
haha yes! And if you notice on the bottom left of the case there's a locker room plate. It's the locker room plate from his first start of his final season in the MLB. Always been a huge Pettitte fan.
Just saw a listing for an ST in another forum which think is yours; readability issue is pushing you towards selling it?
Yep I'm done with it. I'm missing my Speedy Pro regular everyday. The legibility is terrible on the ST. I'd be happy to have someone else have it and be happy with it. That said, I'm not going to talk about the sales anymore as I don't want to "self promote" anything and get in trouble.
