The end links fitted well against the case, but curved springbars were required to acheive a good fit

Can you please explain how you can use curved spring bars in the solid 812 end links? I have these end links but only a couple of mm stick out left and right. So how can a curved spring bar fit in the 812? A thin spring bar maybe?

See attached picture (image credit: Ebay sales ad; not my product or photo!)

And to stay ontopic: collected 008X in Old Bond Street in the last week of August. I think the UK has the highest number of ST2 buyers. Also the highest number of offerings on EBay and Chrono24...

I was in Omega Bond Street today, the sales women I spoke to said 400-500 went to London buyers.

Yes the springbars were thinner than the standard ones

Ah Sarah! She's great. But 400 to 500 is really a big number. That's 25% of the total production for one city? Probably she meant the UK? Doesn't make much sense, as when I collected mine at Old Bond Street, they were talking about a couple...But who am I 馃榾

Thank you very much! I'll give it a go when I get the new 812 end links from the boutique. I adjusted the end links by filing the side ends to a certain thickness. Works great as well, but curved spring bars sounds better.

It wasn't Sarah and she said 80-100 each across 4-5 London boutiques.

18xx landed in London today.

Excited my number range is now being delivered! Hopefully it doesn't take much longer to deliver to San Francisco if they are in London already.

Looks like delivery will really be completed as promised by end Nov. Great job by Omega and the ST guys. 馃榾

When I spoke to Sloane, I asked how many they were getting in and it wasn't anywhere near that number!

I couldn't care less either way! But if it's bothering you why don't you call Bond Street Omega and ask for Bin! That's what she told me yesterday!

Cheers.

Likewise! Just trying to add to the collective wisdom with another data point.

I just realized by wearing my new Rolex 116400 Milgauss with black dial today that the two watches have more than a thing in common!

I find it really hard to believe 25% of the ST2 were reserved in the UK let alone London! It's a big ole world and the UK's population is hardly a significant portion of it.

@JVK_watches, you can still purchase 812 endlinks from Omega? Good to know...as you well know I'm jonesing for a 1479 so this may mean I can find one without endlinks and still make it work...I wonder if they still sell separate links which opens up even more options for me...

An OB in Australia told me about 70 went to Thailand which seems to be another dis-proportionally large number. Having said this, smarter people than me who are internationally mobile might have opted to get theirs delivered outside their home country in places with low VAT rates and/or where they can claim back the tax paid on departure so even if 400 were delivered to London a lot may have subsequently left the country if the UK falls into that category.

I can't remember the source, but I remember hearing or reading that Singapore had some of the biggest deliveries worldwide?

Makes sense, a lot of people fly in and out of there.

Highly possible. Judging by the number of flippers here, not surprising at all.

It would appear that more seem to have gone to Chrono24 than individual countries!

For anyone living in the US that purchased the watch it would've made more sense to have it delivered to the UK. Price in America will be around $7800-8000 depending on your state taxes and $4950 in the UK once you claim VAT. That more than makes up for a plane ticket and hotel stay.
