Unfortunately, I highly doubt it goes by number. Where I am, we have seen deliveries of 1xx and even 14xx.

You're probably correct. I know of someone in the same city as me who has taken delivery of (from the same OB) a higher number than I'm waiting for.

Got mine
Added the 1171 bracelet and it needed some filing on the end links to fit.

I’d be much obliged if someone compares this bracelet with the modern one used today. I feel the modern one with solid feel would go better than 1171. I’m eager to learn more about the difference between these two bracelets.

I went through this with my ST1. First I got the 1171. While it looked good on the watch, it had no weight at all and felt really cheap with all the rattling. I wasn't comfortable with it so I switched to the modern one.

Personally I really like the 1171 bracelet. My Cosmic 2000 came with one.

Agreed that they do rattle and they feel a lot less sturdy than a modern one, but I found it really comfortable on the Cosmic.

Regretfully I sold it on eBay last year.

I got the modern with the micro adjustment to go with it as well. Definitely a much heavier sturdy feel with it but I really enjoyed the 1171 aesthetic at the moment. On a side note another OB regular was in while I was picking it up and he had the new SM300 in black on the rubber strap and now I know what I will be getting next! And a big shout out to the crew at my Omega Boutique (Raynor and George) for making it another epic pick up experience.

But will the new SMPC rubber strap fit the Speedy Pro case? If you get it let us know and please share pics.

After wearing it on the leather strap for about a month, I still couldn't get used to the look of it. So I decided to order a bracelet for it, and it really makes the subtleties of the dial stand out better!

Yes, it will fit. ST2 is the standard Speedy Pro case which has changed little since 1964. You can purchase the 1171/1/633 bracelet from an OB or AD still but the 633 endlinks have these little U-shaped flaps that need to be filed down to fit well. Even with proper filing, they are going to scratch the back of your lugs so be aware. The bracelet is $420 USD new.

Yes the 1171/633 fits, check picture on page 69 from watchmutt:

I just picked it up along with a 1171/633 set. I'll post another pic when I get the bracelet fitted. Ok just fitted the 1171. Here is the before and after. The bracelet goes well with the watch, I think.

I'm not certain. A quick Google search on it should help you find out more. I do know that many of the older bracelets do require some filing of the end links to get them to fit easily on newer Speedy Pro models. For example, I've heard the1479/812 (which was made from 1989-1996) requires some filing of the endlinks as well.
