I feel like ST1 had more of a flood of thread pages of excitement (positive and/or negative) in its first day than today's 16 pages.

Could just be me though....

Not sure if this was posted in the previous 13 pages... sorry didn’t feel like reading through all the chaos.

Part of me hopes this model becomes known as the "cock'n'balls"

Same ups and downs a day after.

Last one there was no warning before hand. It just came out of nowhere. Everyone knew about this one and several threads days before.

Yep, as a previous Speedy Tuesday purchaser you sure couldn't count on getting a notification of sale and timing requirements from Omega
I got the notification email 10 minutes after the watch was sold out 🤦.

12:20 CET and same site issues as many here reported. Now I'm chilled but at 12:20 when I was calmly filling out the Customer Info page, shortly afterwards pressing the confirmation button and getting ... NO reaction from the browser whatsoever, I have to admit I freaked 🤬
But, that's the way it goes, I guess - not meant to be. 😀

In comparison to ST1's launch, there was enough hints I suppose on all platforms (Forums, IG, FB Groups...). I also received a heads up email from Omega at 06:00 CET which I thought was a nice move, probably geared to give the West Coast a fighting chance this time around.
Finally, the move to "waiting list" was seemless this time around and my guess is that Omega wanted to avoid us having to press refresh for like what, 36hrs (which is roughly when they released a waiting list last time around). The moment I saw that (<13:00 CET) I put myself on it and went about my business 😁

In any event, congrats to all that secured a reservation. 👍

Last time sold out in few hours, this time in 20 minutes, so a success for Omega. Originally started to look for a very low number, almost got 0050 but the system freeze, ended up grabbing 027X at the end 😉

That's correct but I do believe will still see the outline of the head if you look closely at the subdial.

Does anyone know how much the Authorized dealers get per watch when we pickup at their location? Is it a flat fee?
I would like to call the few I know and see if they are willing to discount 😗 Would be helpful if we knew how much they make per watch.

Also a few friends mentioned that 500 pieces have been reserved via ADs across the world. Possible?

Means 1500+ pieces were reserved online...

This might be a bit TLDR, but oh well. Last year I was off the day they released the first Speedy Tuesday. I was actually online and could have reserved one. I didn't though. I don't remember exactly, but I think I thought it wasn't for me, I thought I was going to be a one Speedmaster guy (LOL) and I had a few different pieces I was considering at the time. Well it was months and not hours later when I actually got the list (LOL) and of course never got one. I picked one up priced reasonably enough on the grey market after I realized the err of my ways and I love it. I say that because while I missed the reservation window on this one (I actually thought Omega was going to push it back...) I wouldn't have reserved one anyway.

Congratulations to @Robert-Jan and Omega on the release and it's success. Even though it's not for me, I'm not a "hater" and I still think it's generally nicely done and a nice release. I personally would have preferred an homage much closer to the original. I understand the need/desire to differentiate this piece, but I think it could have been done much more subtly. Personally I would preferred a straight homage which if you had to differentiate it just engrave the caseback with the Ultraman head. If you have to differentiate it further, then color the first three markers on the minute register as they did, but don't put a line above them. Then just have the fauxtina which I actually like and call it a day. Any variation on that and I'd be really upset for missing out.

Have to say that Omega should sort out it's system for this sort of release. Not sure what the answer is, but the release time is really early for people get in on this depending on where they live. I also think they should require payment in full.

Anyway, we'll see if I change my mind on this one. Don't think I will though.

I suspect that full payment in advance (even deposits in advance) would create all kinds of transaction and rate exchange costs for everyone outside of the CHF currency and would perhaps be too problematic to implement. Personally I think Omega got it correct. As we all know, this is another on-line LE and there will be more wanting one in the flurry of mania than those who can confirm a reservation, it's par for the course unfortunately.

As far as I may read two camps prevail here. First those of people managed to go through being triumphant for their purchase and second those that did not succeed thus remaining furstrated. Would any one deny that the whole of experience was unpleasent and full of negative emotions? Even those that managed to go through the clumsy online environment Omega created. Usually if we refer to a person who did same mistake twice, after the second one i do tend to define it as stupid unless decision is made under tension and in harsh environment. So how do we name an entity that makes the same mistake twice?
If someone there listens may i suggest next time to have it handled properly?
Two ways come to me as a hunch. (More surely should exist). Make it limited but for a time span, leave a time span of a week for people to subscribe online and deliver as many pieces as susbscribed for and ask for a confirmation deposit made with a local AD or boutique. Second one, if LE is a must, make it as a tender, for a week people should be placing offers then arrange these and deliver to the 2012 offers at the higher part. Again a deposit should be asked for with the local AD or boutique. Simple.
No tension, no colapsing system, no angry people ... buying a watch, especially by a WIS should be something positive. And Omega managed to turn it for a second time to the opposite!

I would not agree with your statement here. A deposit is fine and should be asked for. Good way to isolate initially majority of flippers. The one who votes against a deposit is by nature a flipper as of my humble opinion. Price might be quoted ex- consumption tax and then deposit should be made with local to purchaser AD, who would apply local tax. Let’s not forget that brick and morter at the end should not be left aside from whole operaion. And putting in touch online purchaser with local brick and morter AD should be a part of targeted result for Omega.

As RJ got in, let me say that if i were Omega management i would have him in my team as concept setter in future development of product range. No flattering RJ, just straightforward said. In such case i would have bought shares.

I managed to reserve one ... However I prefer last year's st1 .. do you think anyone would be willing to swap a new st1 for a new st2?

General thought experiment:

How many ST2 would they have sold today if they were advertised as LE in the way the Tintin is LE?

What if it weren't LE at all?

I know part of this is speculation from flippers, but is part of this also just the exclusivity factor (FOMO)?

There will be less TinTins in Circulation than the Ultraman. TinTin is going to be a high priced watch eventually but it’s happening quietly as Speedy Tuesday’s take all the air out of the room.

I'm still able to make a reservation. Allocations on a country by country basis? Anyone want me to reserve for them (just kidding)
Hey, this was mine! Corresponding to my ST1 number - until the reservation process failed before the very last step 🫨.
Tried to reclaim the number over and over. Given the time stamp of your post it took about 30min to become available again 😵‍💫.
Got one nevertheless so I will shut up 😀.
