Am I the only one who had an auto reservation within the first minute but chose not to go through with it? I saw the Ultraman head at the 9 oclock subdial and was put off. Then I saw that it was lumed and cringed. The higher price and lack of bracelet pretty much sealed the deal and went back to sleep. Also, I'm not a flipper.

It's not lumed, it just flouresces under UV light.

I'm not a flipper either, but in a situation like this you could always buy it and decide later whether you like it - if not, you could just sell it to someone on the waitlist for the price you bought it

How do you know the clerks are highly paid?

Honestly, how much IT spending should a company expend for an event that will only last a few hours at most? We have to be realistic here.
spend what? All they had to do was reuse last year's JavaScript files with different PNGs. 30 min job.

So basically, im not a flipper but I should start flipping. lol, pass. Not worth my time paying $7500 tax included to make $1000.

I understand why people are frustrated, but my view is that it doesn't really matter why you missed it, you just have. Asleep / at work / on holiday / issues with the website = someone else got one and you didn't. Move on and see what comes up in future.

PS I missed out and am absolutely gutted.

That is exactly what I am planning on doing; buy it, see it in the flesh and whether it grows on me and based on that decide to keep it or pass it on.

I am sure there will be people out there happy enough to buy it at RRP if I would not like it...

(Same approach as with the ST1; that didn’t go anywhere though. 😀 )

I had #134 when the page timed out and wouldn't let me extend. Ended up with number 627.
Yep, #425...crash...#1068...confirmed

My friend backed out and I grabbed a reservation for him last night. I’m about to release it and let Omega know to cancel that reservation. If you didn’t get one, one is about to pop up on the site.

What are people's thoughts on this one? Better than ST1?

Just sent the email to Omega. Keep an eye out on the site.

I think at this point they have switched over to wait list... I don't think it will go back to the site.

Not what I said:

If you don't see anything that you're even remotely curious about, don't buy it. But the way I see it, I think it's kinda cool looking and I feel like the orange accents on the dial might be a lot of fun to wear. I'm not thrilled about the Ultraman head in the running seconds subdial though. But I'll reserve one anyway because in the worst case scenario (I hate it, can't stand to look at it) I won't lose any money because there are a number of people on the waitlist, deserving enthusiasts who missed out for one reason or another, and they'd be glad to buy it off me at MSRP + tax. Not for a huge profit.

Compare this to buying a run of the mill regular production modern watch (but not a SS Rolex) at MSRP. If I find after a few weeks or months that I don't want it anymore, I'm looking at a loss of a couple thousand dollars. For modern watches this is a consideration

Congrats to everyone who reserved. The step dial really makes this one.

I was about 25 minutes too late based on the responses in this thread.

I love orange ! If I don’t go disco dancing to get exposed to the Ultraman head, I’m also good.
I missed out on ST1, and I think #SpeedyTuesday (RJB) and Omega did an awesome job.
For the technical glitches...hard to lay blame at one entity’s door.

It may not be everyone’s taste or cup of tea, but I look forward to owning A SpeedyTuesday.

If your revenue in these few hours is € 12,112,240 (and with more than one event of this kind up ahead), you can build a pretty bad-ass system to handle the load 😉

But why? They had a revenue of € 12,112,240 is less then 30 minutes. How would that be an issue to them?

General thought experiment:

How many ST2 would they have sold today if they were advertised as LE in the way the Tintin is LE?

What if it weren't LE at all?

I know part of this is speculation from flippers, but is part of this also just the exclusivity factor (FOMO)?

When I saw RJ tease the BMW stuff I was actually a bit worried it would be a bit ordinary as I'm really not a fan of brand tie-ups like that but when I saw the overall styling and especially the little features like the stepped dial and vintage Omega symbol I was in.

I mentioned this to RJ as well last night, but I really, really wish Omega would dump the current logo and go back to the applied 60s era logo across their entire range. I genuinely dislike the current logo and associate it with the mediocre watches of the 70s/80s while the brand is at least close to the level they were at in the 60s once again now quality wise.

Now that wouldn't be a cheap rebranding exercise but IMO totally worth it.
