Wow this is frustrating as hell.

Still sitting here with 290/2012 and the form won't submit. CAPTCHA keeps breaking and timing out. FIX YOUR FORM OMEGA.

I know exactly how you feel!

I wish I would have gotten one, all LE hype aside, it’s an amazing looking watch. On a well worn leather strap this would be the perfect.

I had #1846 in the bag, and I could not click on accept terms and conditions.

The button wasn’t active.

It warned me I was running out of time and I could NOT click on the extend another 5 minutes button.

Then it was gone!

Bastards are worse than Apple on iPhone launch day, such a tease!
Exactly what happened to me, what is also frustrating is that I have now seen the number I would have been allocated on the forum!

Is it only me who think it's looks naff?

I was excited and ready to go when I heard th rumours. Then I saw it then didn't bother. An ultra man chrono hand was all that was need, perhaps with a single line of red text and a stepped dial if they want to be slightly different.

But the red chrono hand, red on the sub second dial, red on the tachymeter, red on the hour markers, red text and then a luminous silhouette on the dial is far too much for me.

Just started composing my “disgruntled consumer” email to Mr Aeschlimann!
Strangely enough, the Contact part of the Website is kaput too......I wonder why?

I’ll say it again, a very nice Watch, well done to the lucky few........but Customer Experience very poor again Omega. Promises made from the CEO post ST1 have not been kept in my opinion at this moment in time. Hopefully, they can fix that.
Already sent my comments, strangely no reply as yet, maybe they’re having IT problems!

I deliberately left the number out, but no it wasn’t the one you quoted.

Must admit the NATO strap will join the ST 1 strap as never seeing the light of day whilst I own the watch. 😉

By bringing it up you certainly were successful trying to avoid it! Great job! 👍

For me people being offended because someone likes or dislikes a specific watch is both sides of the same coin.

To me this is a very different flavor to the typical "Rolex v Omega" threads which are usually full of idiotic claims of one being "better" somehow. But if you see this the same way as people who have differing tastes on some Speedmaster LE's, then carry on...

I personally have never seen someone on this forum be offended by someone liking a watch. That would be very "quirky" behaviour for me. But I agree with you that it would indeed be as foolish as being offended by someone not liking a watch.

I suppose I was indeed wrong to bring this up this topic in this thread.

Upon reflection any comparison topic is indeed worthy for discussion (technical, taste....) for those that want to discuss it. You were indeed only stating your opinion for a given watch, it did seem a bit strong in language for me, but I was not personally offended in any way and should have let Speedy dogs lie.

Back on topic

Talking about the Snoopy, Ultraman and other children's characters as future inspiration for Speedy LEs, I am looking forward to a future Speedy Gonzales LE which I have heard might feature a controversial Pink Floyd Hammer on the case back.

Nope. I think the sundial is cheesy as heck, but then I think the same about the Silver Snoopy so it seems I don’t think like wot others think like.

Woh buddy!

Someone's REAL angry they didn't get their reservation.

No, I’m really angry that Omega gave me a reservation form for an acceptable LE number, but the page didn’t work to let me accept the terms or to extend my session so that I could accept the terms.

I lost a minute (of the 5 minutes allowed to complete the form) just figuring out that the website didn’t recognize any of the address fields that were auto-filled by my browser, and it made me type in the long address again manually.

And I’m really angry about the crappy snark from other forum members that it was well deserved, just because I posted on IG that wasn’t exited about a sweep second hand with no lume.

In return I could say, Karma, people that gloat over other people's misery deserve what they get. But I don't relish in other people’s problems.

For those that struggled with the reservation system; I wouldn't be so quick to blame Omega, at least not 100%. A lot of web funkiness is in the client browser, not the server. I was running Chrome on a Macbook and everything worked fine. Often times, Firefox will not work for me, while Chrome will. Conducting business over a web browser, whether its Ebay sniping, an online poker game, a watch auction, or what-have-you, is an imperfect blend of technology, any part of which can fail you at the critical moment.

Good points, but did Omega really make any effort to improve the reservation system from ST#1? I am not so sure. I agree though that there was much more significant concentrated demand compared to the ST#1.

I do think that for the ST#2 online launch they should have requested at least a partial deposit to confirm the order, which could be paid at the pick-up OB within 30 days. This would weed out the purely opportunistic flipper speculators earlier on in the process and perhaps keep some of the "true Ultraman fans" happier. Nothing against the flippers BTW. If a given flipper wants to speculate and commit to reserving the watch with cash upfront for future resale, well they have every right to do so in a capitalist system.

I suppose once again getting the internet headlines that this Speedy LE "sold out" (reserved) in less than two hours is what opens the champagne in Biel.

I just wonder if they really are going to be doing a new ST every year. I honestly think that is too frequent and they could eventually suffer from Speedy Tuesday fatigue...they should heed Disney's Star Wars multiple releases as an example of how you can dilute a brand with over exposure.

Am I the only one who had an auto reservation within the first minute but chose not to go through with it? I saw the Ultraman head at the 9 oclock subdial and was put off. Then I saw that it was lumed and cringed. The higher price and lack of bracelet pretty much sealed the deal and went back to sleep. Also, I'm not a flipper.

For those complaining about Omega's form not working realize no one has mastered the art of limited edition online releases. Companies who do this kind of stuff regularly still can't predict traffic and have glitches on their forms. Given that this is Omega's second attempt ever I thought it went very smoothly. Maybe I am used to doing these online releases for other things so I had no trouble, but I wouldn't blame Omega too much.

Just to pour some more oil onto the fire. Had exactly the same problem twice. First time on my Iphone and second time on my comp. Extremely furstrated. Beoyond believe such a company and highly paid clerks might perform in such way! Unbelievable!

How do you know the clerks are highly paid?

Honestly, how much IT spending should a company expend for an event that will only last a few hours at most? We have to be realistic here.
