In the past, we did a Speedmaster Buyer’s Guide series to give some pointers for those who are in the market for a Speedmaster. However, giving advice on which Speedmaster to buy is difficult, as there are so many different models and just as many differences in taste. Top 5 Omega Speedmaster […]

I hazard a guess that RJ has a Top 5 Vintage watches coming in a future post..

For modern, I'd go something like:

'94 LE white gold, 3192.30
376.0822 Holy Grail
Speedyorite
Mark II reissue
Apollo Xi, 30th

Another enjoyable writeup for Speedy Tuesday @Robert-Jan !! I think picking the TinTin in your top 5 is particularly interesting!
Although I love vintage, I'm going to keep my top 5 limited to modern pieces as I really see vintage Speedys and modern Speedys as two entirely different categories. Also, I'm including the "sides of the moon" as did RJ in his writeup, Omega has included these in the Speedmaster "moonwatch" collection, so I think we need to respect that

1. Speedyorite
2. Grey Side of the Moon
3. Silver Snoopy
4. 45th Apollo XI Anniversary (on Ti bracelet of course!)
5. 40th Gemini IV Anniversary (blue dial)

Honorable mentions: 1975 Apollo-Soyuz, Apollo XI patch, TinTIn

I have to admit I am purely vintage when it comes to the Speedy (or any Omega for that matter) and not really interested with any of the offerings post-1975 or so. All the anniversary this and that are a bit too much for me and only done to add money to the coffers IMHO. That being said.... I would have to include one new offering to my list and that being the new Snoopy. This piece really speaks to me and feel the team at Omega did a fine job on it. Sure, we get all the Snoopy humping the dial comments but it is a great offering. Nothing finer though than an Ed White however....

Not a fan of speedies as such but I have got my name down for the snoopy and I don't think I will need to be asked twice if I get the chance to buy it.

From the Fratello article,

"In this article I will give my personal Top 5 Omega Speedmaster watches, based on new or at least recent models. In another article I will list my vintage Top 5 Omega Speedmaster watches."

Save the good stuff for the next article boys!

I'd replace the TinTin by Speedyorite honestly, the rest - considering exclusively modern ones - is ok to me, maybe ordered in a different way to match preference 😎

Real. RJ has been writing about Speedmasters for ages & he is a member here, as well as being a very decent man.
