That’s not what happened. It wasn’t marketed, nor was the true story released and it was largely distributed to Asian markets who were confused by it as it was called Racing much like a previous Racing edition. They were then redistributed elsewhere. Now that the true story is recognized and corroborated they are unobtainable. This is very similar to the highly coveted Day.

Yes indeed that’s what largely happened. The true story couldn’t be told due to the legal issues. RJB took that legal risk and broke it on Fratellowatches and from there it gradually spread on Internet and as they say the REST IS HISTORY.

Keep in mind Paul Newman Daytona’s were being sold 50% off at one point in the late 60’s to 70’s. Also error watches are highly sought after eventually by collectors the Destination Moon seems to be one of Omega’s biggest errors. All signs point upwards.

Yes you couldn’t have said better. I agree in toto.

First post to say hello to the group and report my serial. The Tintin is my first Omega and although looking for a racing automatic I was caught into the intrigue of the backstory as others have. Bought last September for $4350 including CA tax. Seller was asking $4450. Now it seems I haven't lost any money. I took a picture of the sticker on the bottom of the outer box indicated date of production 2017. Is that for the packaging? 777970XX reporting!

The date of production in the sticker refers to outer box. Date of production for the watch can be found in authenticity card. You don’t have it?

I've never held any kind of interest in the TinTin . . . until I actually helped one of my buddies source one. Now every single damn time I see it I want it on my wrist.

Man, that Ultraman ST better get here quick before I start looking at another speedy . . . .

They'll grow on ya. I actually didn't like the Tintin at first, but as I looked into them more, I started to get that itch... I will say it's far better in person than in most photos you see. IMO, it also looks better on an aftermarket leather strap than on the stock bracelet. 😎

Have a really cool strap in the works from Dangerous9. About 5 weeks down on the 10-12 week process. Should be pretty grand when paired up with the TinTin

The card pouch only included the international warranty card and a pictogram card each indicating the serial number and caliber number but no mention of a production date. The warranty card is blank where it would otherwise allow the dealer to date it.

Wow!
Do you remember a TINTIN listing on Chrono 24 from a Massachusetts retailer which was priced $9750?
The status of the listing is :Sold
The question is: what was the final price sold?!
I doubt it was $9,75k

We will see this price soon though

According to their webshop it's also sold out there. I've seen pieces listed as sold, but then another pops up at a cheaper price. Not sure if it's the same watch, but I would keep an eye out if they list another one.

That piece is in pretty rough conditions considering the year it’s released.
