I paid £2250 ($3300 at the time) for mine in May 2016, it seems that I bought at the right time (not that it's going anywhere).

It's 777771xx for reference.

This, my friend, is one of the nicest straps for the Tintin. Any chance you can share the cost and where to purchase?

I'd advise caution. This could be read as a stealth FS post.

FS? You mean “for sale”?

I wish I had a business relation with the site (for example be an owner) 😀

I have noticed that previous posts specify the source of buying straps so I added my source....

Yep, sorry, seems I misunderstood. When I read your post I thought you had bought it but were now looking to move it on. Thanks for clearing that up 😀

That piece is in pretty rough conditions considering the year it’s released.

I think it is just in “dirty” condition and his current holder is lazy to clean it.
It is already “on hold” status....

I have that exact strap on my Tintin and it's very nice.

I do not think it is dirty. Obviously hairlines on bracelet and many scratches on the lugs. But nothing a light polish can settle. Collectors will prefer unpolished though. What is attractive is the price even after factoring in a light polish and servicing. Just my 2 cents.

Well no luck with the Cardinals. The highlight was leaving at start of 4th Qt and beating the traffic leaving

As a DC-area native and life-long resident, I was very disappointed to read about the Cardinal's failure yesterday. There is nothing worse then Redskin fans when they actually win the first game of the season. It literally takes 10 losses after that before they begin to admit they may not actually win the Super Bowl after all 🤦

Hi guys! This is probably a dumb question, but is there any hope of sourcing one of these via a boutique or AD at this point? I remember seeing them within the last year or so, but the market seems to have taken off since then.

It could be difficult now, I think. After I read that two had appeared and had been snapped up from my local OB a while back, I went in and made enquiries. The salesperson said they would look into availability and asked me to leave my contact details, but I never heard back from them. I started poking around on OF but had no luck and eventually managed to find one from a dealer overseas. Slightly disappointing that after several months, I've never heard back from the OB. I thought they'd at least try to foist something else on me! 😉

Thanks for the response, that's what I figured. I called my local OB and was told they wouldn't be able to get one, which was expected. My guess is that there's still a few hanging around ADs somewhere, as the market has just recently taken off and very few people are "in-the-know" enough to recognize what this watch is. I just found a JLC Geophysic 1958 LE in steel, which was allegedly sold out 2-3 years ago, so I'm keeping my hopes up. I also have to admit that I kind of enjoy the challenge of finding something like this. Hopefully my next post in this thread will be about one I found!

I agree, part of the thrill in this game is definitely in the chase. Good luck with the hunt!

I got one on July, from an AD, including 2 year official warranty. It was sitting there for a few yeas. Sadly is has some handling sings from being showed around and strap exchanges, trying to get rid of it along the years.
