Oh sure...but that range is a lot less than $9750. And again that's not even NOS. Does come with box and papers and does look to be in fine knick but still...

Hmmm... A few thoughts on this:

-I follow a few grey dealer daily and EWC is one of them. I didn't check in today or I'd have posted about this. This is the first Tintin I've seen on their site since I've taken notice of the Tintin.
-I could be wrong, but from what I've seen they've actually bought watches from other grey dealers and then gone and listed them at a higher price.
-They tend to be high in their pricing (along with another grey dealer), but they will negotiate. That said they still must have got a lot for that watch. Still if you look at their respective pricing on the ck2998 (blue) their prices were something like 40% more than another grey dealer and it wasn't a condition issue either.
-Sometimes pieces are on "hold" on their site, usually right when they are listed, and then are later available. That could be that someone did actually put it on hold and changed their mind, or it could be a tactic.

Destination Moon and 1953 is pretty accurate from what I’ve been told. 1953 was the number to be released but they also discarded many dials that had the rocket at 11 some have said as many as 500. There is definitely less than 2000, likely closer to 1500. Great conversation piece. Highly collectible and sought after. Becoming a must have for most Speedmaster collectors.

$10,000 is right around the corner without question on the TinTin. This seller seems to be trying to jump into the future. My first thought is “why not” it’s not as if these are readily available any longer and the back story of TinTin is now out there in the public domain. I say to any prospective buyer buy one when you see one as seeing one for sale is coming to an end, especially at a reasonable price.

10K for a Tin Tin? It gets to a point where if I'm going to spend 10K, there are more options in the Speedmaster range that have production numbers around 2,000 or less.

The story behind it and the fact that it is not a LE and at the same time not a numbered edition watch makes it more desirable than a 2000 pieces Speedmaster.
Also a lot of Tintin cartoon fans out there and most important: THE WATCH is VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
    My humble opinion :)

Bottom line. I think this is what will ensure the Tintin's long-term popularity.

I’ve owned and sold it. It’s a lot of things, but can’t say I found it beautiful

It’s difficult to accept now that this watch was one of the flop model for first three years of its launch!!

It was also called an unpopular Speedmaster that sat at the counters unmoved!!!

That’s not what happened. It wasn’t marketed, nor was the true story released and it was largely distributed to Asian markets who were confused by it as it was called Racing much like a previous Racing edition. They were then redistributed elsewhere. Now that the true story is recognized and corroborated they are unobtainable.

Yes indeed that’s what largely happened. The true story couldn’t be told due to the legal issues. RJB took that legal risk and broke it on Fratellowatches and from there it gradually spread on Internet and as they say the REST IS HISTORY.

I bought mine from the Omega AD early last year for under $ 3000!
