路Not every watch within that range was a TinTin.
I dunno but off the top of my head 25-30 or so have gone to forums members through my hands so we can boost that number up
2-3%
Sorry, @Dwix, but yours is somewhere in the middle of the collected range. The lowest serial number I have recorded to date is 77 727 1xx and the highest is 77 798 0XX. I have a little under 80 serials to date, but all falling within this range.
EDIT: I have corrected this in a later post - apologies to Dwix.
So my question with your distribution is how many of your 25-30 TinTin customers previously reported their serial numbers on this thread? Obviously we don't want any double counts.
Using this reverse method, I would still say about 1500 and for arguments sake add Kringkily's 30 to the 80 known then 110 which would be a little over 7%. So working out number by % is dependant on the total, so I can't see that working - the German Tank method is still more likely to lead to a better calculation of numbers if I can find a watch loving statistician to do the head work 馃憥馃憥馃憥
The German Tank Method is excellent but will it work with only partial serial numbers? Most folks on this thread are not listing their complete, full serial number. As for me, based on the total of this threads reporting, I strongly suspect the number of TinTins produced is between 1500 & 2000. As an aside, I recently spoke with a longtime OB manager. When I asked that manager how many TinTins were produced the answer was simply, "not many!"
