Not to be pedantic, but, I jumped to no conclusion, I simply pointed out the facts.... Omega is still "releasing" new TIntin's to the retail network, after having previously claimed the Tintin was sold out or "unavailable" worldwide. I made no claims about the actual production dates, or where these particular watches may have been prior to their current residency back at HQ.

Yes you are right. When I bought my TinTin Watch last year I got from an AD who had this watch on discount as it was an old stock. I tried through the OB to buy a new one but after enquiry from the Switzerland they confirmed that NO piece was available there and it was out of production. Then I went for NOS. It’s amazing that now Omega has started sending them in good numbers again. My AD too got few new TinTin watches recently. I don’t know what’s going on there but it doesn’t give a good image of the Brand. Just my 2 cents...

Curious... what's the current RRP from an OB?

It now appears to be in a regular production albeit in smaller quantity and benched at lower price than regular vanilla Speedmaster. It may have also benefited from certain articles published in a Watch blog stating its collectivity and being rare as very small quantity ever produced. Although it’s a good watch to own but I also got influenced by the small numbers produced by the brand and therefore a good collective watch. Even here there were discussions that they are around 1000 to 3000 or maximum 5000 ever produced by Omega!! That all perhaps is not true at all.

Gawwd I dig this watch! Compared to my ceramic Daytona - black, SS Sub Date, Speedy Tuesday and 60th Speedy, hmm, I know this is hard to believe but I think the Tintin just might have the highest grin factor! ...and it’s the least expensive of the bunch!

The Tintin is my first Speedy, and while I absolutely love it, I'm finding that it's not a watch that easy to read quickly - the thin white hands tend to get a little lost amongst the white subdial markings and the large sweep second hand, to the point that it takes me a second or so to decipher what it's actually telling me.

Pretty much any of my other watches, including my only other chronometer - a Tissot Tour de France - can be read with just a quick glance. Perhaps it's just Omega's devious way of getting folks to gaze at their watches just a little longer. :)

I do tend to linger on mine when I check the time :) . I personally don't have trouble reading though.

I don’t have any trouble at all reading time on TinTin. It’s as legible as a regular Speedmaster Moonwatch. Speedy Tuesday LE has legibility issues under certain light conditions as it has brushed steel hands and reverse panda luminous sub dials.

Found myself in Tokyo for the week; figured I might as well pick up a Speedy Tintin. Great price for a Speedy. Serial No. 7780XXXX They won't be running out of these soon. But haven't seen any on display. Odd. Came in the large wooden box. 20171221_220600.jpg 20171221_213149.jpg 20171221_220345.jpg

I believe date of production on the box refers to the date of production of the box. Not the watch. From what I've seen, most Tin Tin serials are not 2017 serials.

I’m guessing from these TinTin’s popping up that ‘sold out’ and ‘out of stock’ means something different when it comes to Omega Watches
