Our serial numbers are quite close Robert, mine is 7779738X from Bic Camera.
Do you or does anyone know where the Tintin rocket was on the dial of the prototype watch, the rocket which had to be removed? My understanding is that it was one of the subdials hands.
It's my opinion that the watch looks great as is and any additional decoration would not have been a good idea. Anyone agree?
Yes I agree. This much decoration on dial is very balanced IMHO.

They have the original prototype at the Omega Museum - it not on display so you have to ask for it privately, probably sign a non diclosure agreement and cannot take photos... The little rocket is at 11, as has been said, very small and enhances the dial I think - shame to have lost it and the wonderful caseback that no doubt had tintin characters on it

Caseback with Tintin characters on the back hmmm...500 with Capt Haddock, 500 with prof Calculus, 1500 with Tintin & Snowy. Not a totally bad idea.

Oh wow, really want to see those prototypes. Would be amazing if Moulinsart actually gave up on their strict regulations and allowed Omega to release an official version of the Tintin, complete with a rocket on the second hand as well as Tintin engraved casebacks.
Even if this was only released in a highly limited edition I believe that this would completely outrun both Silver Snoopy and SpeedyTuesday!

That sir is a bargain!
I just received my "Tin Tin". Purchased from a third party Amazon Canada from Japan. Feared I might face a large customs bill on arrival but there were no additional fees.

They show a Tin Tin for sale currently from a different Japanese seller at a slightly higher price.

My watch is serial 778006xx and came in the earlier red case.

Hi new to the forum though been reading for a while. Guess this is the correct place to post this.

For those of you looking for a TinTin saw a couple of new ones in Tokyo over the last couple of days. BigEcho in Ueno have one at list, but BIC in Akihabara have one on discount and with the additional Halloween discount they are offering works out around Y 305,000 tax free price.

Hope this helps those of you looking to get one.

Small correction the shop in Ueno is actually called Yodobashi (BigEcho is next door, confused the signs)

That's the equivalent of $2700 USD, which is a GREAT price for the watch...WOW!

Price was very tempting, if I hadn’t bought another watch before the trip would have got it myself.

Would guess that it has probably sold by now, but if anyone is visiting Tokyo, may be worth passing by just in case.

Yodobashi still have one on their web page, guess also still in the shop in Ueno. Price is Y372,380, which works out at around $3,300, not as good as BIC but still not bad.

What seems to be happening (my guess) is that Omega is slowly releasing additional stock. There has continued to be a trickle of these watches, all NOS, available at AD's and even boutiques. If so, its a clever marketing trick by Omega, to continue to give the impression that "this is the last one". I've noted that @DLT222 has managed to get his hands on 5 TinTin's at a time.

It involves a lot of sourcing from everywhere, they do not just appear out of thin air

I bought the last Tin Tin from Omega UK, from Regent Street in January. Omega UK have confirmed there is no more UK stock.

You would think, but they keep appearing like a very slow drip from the kitchen tap.

I want a second one now, so off to the WTB forum thread...

UPDATE:

Now that was quick! Itch assuaged! ::rimshot::

A mate here in Aus just came up with a BNIB still sealed for me so all good. Anyway, Anyone wanting a great first Tintin (or second) should check out @Taddyangle - his Tintin on the For Sale thread is great, it's in top nick and the price is killer - The BNIB unopened just trumped it for me as it was what I wanted, but I can't see that one lasting too long especially at that price. I'll post movement # when I get it and get the Excel file back up to scratch on known movement numbers.
