bought mine while visiting Tokyo (surprise) at an electronic store similar to BIC Camera brand new for 2.6k USD which is unbelievable. Seems to me like a Japanese wholeseller released a large batch and sold to electronic stores. Amazing steals!! Love my Tin Tin. Serial number 777809xx
was this recent during a trip to japan?

Bought mine yesterday from Jackroad in Tokyo, NIB with a 2 year Omega warranty. 300,000 YEN. The salesfolk in Tokyo associated no extra value to this watch and I had fun showing them Tin Tin pictures from "Going to the Moon".

BTW serial is 778006** and is within the range of numbers already listed.

Maybe that should be on a need-to-know basis.

Must say I felt the same at one point. But now the thought rests in the back of my mind, and I just enjoy the piece 👍
Though it does not get much wrist time.. Maybe this will not become a sought after watch, because of the fact that people buying it want it to be so... ::stirthepot::

After reading the forums for a while, I decided to join with my 777782xx. One of the more photogenic Speedies IMO!

I feel the need to post a picture of mine in this thread as well.

What is the back drop of this picture? It looks an image of the TinTin that is rather large. Just curious.

Thanks! I am ashamed to admit I don't have the book. Mmm. (Searching now)
No problem. Amazon was recommended on the forum a while ago, that is where I bought mine about a month ago.

Just ordered it locally. Looking forward to it. Was on my wishlist but just never pulled the trigger. Thanks for the final push!

I just got mine - 777661xx - I think this is already within the range previously given.

Did anyone notice that the rings give a weird 3D stepped effect. It makes me stare at it constantly. 🤨

The book was released in 1953 so maybe around that range. I say anything around the 2000-3000 would be my guess. going to be interest to see when omega release the final number of these many moons from now.

I didn't have the patience to check each page and add up the number sequences. Was someone keeping tally off-forum?👎

no but there is a quote from someone at Omega in this thread who mentions the production numbers (albeit with a wide berth) and was considered final say in the matter on this - using the search I found it:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedy-tintin-information-gathering.33387/#post-374981

"EDIT: In May 2017, In a discussion I had with Jean-Claude Monachon, VP of Omega Product Development, he suggested there were about 3000 made (he did not know the precise figure off the top of his head)..."
