Is that source an Omega employee or a watch enthusiast who "knows a guy who knows a guy?" We're not asking for any names of course--a little elaboration would be appreciated though 馃榾

Like good journalists I go to the source.

How reliable is this inside source BTW? 2000 numbers seem to me a much lesser figure than what we could gauge from the market. It's still available at boutique after 4 years!! I don't know for sure what would be the exact number but very eager to know as a Tin Tin owner and fan.

If I was betting, 2,000 seems like a reasonable guesstimate after seeing the small batch LE 2012 edition #SpeedyTuesday watch.

I can't imagine Omega producing a number on the higher end like 7,007 pieces (i.e.: Spectre Seamaster). Without proper marketing and push (i.e.: TinTin), the watches would be sitting in the boutiques for years!

The 2k range would also be in line with the Japan Racing but short of some sort of breaking news on a Speedy Tuesday at Fratello we are just going to keep speculating (myself included- it's kinda fun to know they're limited but not know HOW limited)

Surely the ones who 'know' at Omega bought a couple themselves, and have the power now to keep the speculation rife, and can somehow feed that speculation by not releasing production figures. What would you do in the same situation?

Sold my TinTin and almost instantly regretted it... so... bought another one back! Let's see how long I can keep this one.
I am starting to feel like there might be more than 2000 based on the frequency I am seeing them. But maybe they are still just getting allocated to more permanent homes. It will be interesting to see what the market is like at the end of the year.
This one is serial 777809XX.

I thought about flipping mine too, but as you I am sure that I will be in for a 'seller's remorse'..
BTW looks really great on a darkish brown strap! 馃憤

Thanks - strap is from Worn and Wound. One of the most versatile straps I own.

I was also thinking about selling it to reduce my collection lately as Speedy Tuesday will join very soon but your posts made me change my mind. It's quite different Moonwatch otherwise with a shiny gloss black dial and white and red checks.

Hello everyone, newbie here,
Let's get this out of the way...

THIS very thread right here caused me to get the TINTIN speedy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. It's a absolutely amazing timepiece with a history right from the start.

You guys rock... Pictures and serial to follow.

Regards,

I wonder what difference does it make to give full serial number. In any case it doesn't reveal my bank details or other confidential information. I quoted my full serial number and my privacy is not yet compromised. Please enlighten me if I'm ignorant about some serious risk. Regards

Yup. If you check the first part of this thread, you'll note that blubarb and users were listing serial ranges by the hundreds. The guess is that the total production is somewhere around 2,000, and we know for a fact that serials for the model are at least in the range of 776xx.xxx - 778xx.xxx, so that's 200,000 (at least) potential serials that tintins can fall under (with plenty of other models mixed in). On the first page, 77777.1xx and 77777.5xx had already been recorded--not sure if 77777.6xx has already been added, but every bit of data helps 馃榾

Armed with the full serial#, I don't think there's much others can do with that information, aside from being jerks and calling Omega to report it stolen 馃榿 It's probably best not to give out the full serial anywhere, even if you're only blanking out the last digit. It leave a papertrail behind for future owners, which might be a good or bad thing.
