What is interesting is that the card photos you PM'd me show that this is a Tin Tin model. So has someone altered the cards? It's all quite odd.

but i cant keep it like that. selling would be more valuable then sending it back but for this i am too honest 😉

Well, in the interest of making sure that no one else gets fooled by this one, here is the result of the serial number search on the Omega Extranet:

I don‘t know if i „have to“ or if i „better should not“, but i could also send you the online dealer i bought the watch! (based in germany)
see if he will sell it as a „Tin Tin“ next week again!

You can inform him about Omega details that it's standard 1861 Moonwatch and not TinTin. I hope it'll deter him to cheat again.

You can also report him to the selling platform for misleading information.

That is completely false, and indicates to me that this seller is no innocent party. IMO it would be beneficial to the forum to name the seller.

Pictures start on page two 😕 you can even work backwards one page at a time and see pics 😒
You're right. I must have been browsing on my phone, as no pics appeared for at least the first 5 pages. But now, looking on my desktop computer, I see pictures--lots of them. I love technology...

Hi Folks!
So I was at my service man in Austria regarding the authenticy and the condition of my TinTin. After that I'm even more lucky!! Serial of movement and housing fits card, so all legit! Movement and condition is perfect, no service needed! looks like it was barely in use or lets say bettes "rested for a long time".
So for me this is an absolute happy ending and the start of hopefully a great relatiomship with my TinTin 😀
Thank you all for your inputs to all of my questions!!
BR
Philipp

Hi Philipp,

where are you located in Austria? I am from Styria 👍

Hans

I was also a bit worried when i purchased my tintin, so went straight to OB to check it. Turned out the sn is legit. But what was worrying to me were 2 things:
- wooden box - back then there were some implications that it was only the red box for tintin
- the unstamped card - correct one, but no AD or OB stamp on it.

Thanks to all of you showing the wooden boxes - this is no longer an issue. On the stamp however, I still wonder sometimes why is it that I somehow it never got stamped? Any ideas on this?

I can definitely confirm that the early Tintin were delivered with a red leatherette box, and the later ones with the big wooden box.
Simply coincides with when Omega implemented that change for regular production (I forgot the exact time frame, but the switch was at least after 2015 IIR).

Here are some obfuscated photos of the original TinTin prototype you can ask to see at the museum. What a shame we never got the rocket and that caseback!
(I did not take these photos I was sent them by a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy who took these photos and he took them at the Omega museum and had to obfuscate them by Omega apparently):

Great case back it would have been, although I am not so sure about the rocket on the dial. Very unorthodox place for it.
