Its good to dream....those are a bunch of dreams asking crazy prices. I have not seen any trade at those levels.

I take a look every now and then as well. The asking prices are certainly rising, I wonder what actual sale prices are.

I also looked at 5 digit rolex gmt’s on chrono24 recently. It’s amazing how many of them there are when compared to the Tintin. I bring it up because of the “exclusivity” and difficulty of obtaining them. It isn’t really apples to apples, just a curious comparison.

Rarity does not mean value. The rarest 861 SS Speedmaster is the 220 error Bezel watch which are only worth a few hundred more than the ones with a correct bezel. Rolex older than 1955 or so are very very cheap and very very rare.

Asking not sold LOL.

Sure, but it's still "wow," on the asking.
I didn't see how long they've been listed.

I guess anyone can ask whatever price they want, but thank goodness there are moderating sites and forums like the OF to throw some light on the subject. Perhaps these dealers are learning their lesson from the Rolex greed culture that currently pervades watch collecting.

Just looking at a couple of these that have popped up on sales corners. Very high priced and no room for wiggle. What are others seeing?

Hi everyone, not sure if you are still keeping track of the serial numbers but I bought my Tintin about 3 years ago before the prices went ballistic. Serial is: 77776.6xx. It's the one watch which my kids love and have asked me to give them when I'm done with it.

I was listening to an Instagram live chat between Sacha Davidoff and Menta watches last week. Speedmaster prices came up and they agreed the vintage market is softer for now (although good pre moons are getting hard to find), but certain Speedy L.E's are flying higher every few months.

He said fullset Tintins now trade in the mid teens and 50th Snoopies in the 20s. I assume he meant CHF, so slightly under USD.

Tintins have definitely got some interest in the last 12 months.

Whoa, am shocked at the asking prices for the TinTin. I bought one in 2015 and they appear to be selling for a lot more than I paid for mine. It’s been lightly used, not a regular part of the rotation. If I thought I could get anywhere near those asking prices, I’d put it on the market tomorrow.

I’d think about a trade for a Dark Side of the Moon. And probably some cash as my cursory review shows those haven’t appreciated anywhere near the TinTins. Any pointers on how to price it would be appreciated.

Dan I’d imagine if you asked $12-13k depending on completeness you’d sell it in a heartbeat.

If you all go back page by page you will read comments about prices over 10k as optimistic and insane and that can’t happen and that’s only asking prices not sale prices!
Now it’s >10k, in a couple of years will be > 20k

p.s
I will make a note of the page and date of my above statement and I will repost it when price is >20k
