People with "rare" Beanie Babies were convinced they were sitting on a gold mine too.
Take whatever amount Omega made and subtract those. ...in a bank safe or destroyed in a crusher, what’s the difference? Nobody will see them or wear them. Which is totally not a judgement, I’m just saying ironically it’s the same.

you have to question that the people giving it a bashing are the people that missed these when they were cheap!

In terms of 'pump & dump' I certainly don't think its a case of that, its simply a great piece that was not sought after when new but now every speedy guy wants one.

I paid $2400 for my first in 2012 (still unworn) as an indication.

I have 2 left if anyone is interested. One NOS and one very slightly used - May as well get that in there too!

You really have to question the people that own them and post incessantly regarding the "value" of the watch and the latest asking price updates. I don't give a hoot about the watch. I find it ugly and unappealing. To each their own. But the incessant claims about skyrocketing value are comical and transparent.

That's easily fixed, don't follow the thread.

I do agree it's pretty boring now. But for someone who gave a hoot about the watch and didn't find Tinitins ugly an unappealing, it was an interesting and informative read... + 6 months ago.

Over the last 12 months Tintins have doubled in value, which has transformed the thread. While you find the claims comical, unfortunately it's fact.

A rare group photo before they go back into bank's safe...

It’s kinda sad that these lovely watches will likely never be used by anyone.... to actually tell the time

They will. I have 3 kids. One each for them when the time comes. The black leather pc for myself and selling one pc as listed in the buy/sell section.

I sold my TinTin to David SW yesterday while I was in Orlando (I’m doing big time house remodeling so I’ve decided to become a one watch guy and have purged my entire collection down to my favorite - SubC). It was fun (and lucrative!) being a member of the TinTin club! I’ll keep lurking on this thread to see the awesome photos you guys post of your TinTins! It’ll also be fun watching the value of the watch climb as they say to the moon!

I guess there are 2 types of people here... those who love watches, and those who view them as a commodity, to profit from.

I love my collection. But, hate losing money. However much I adore a certain piece I will not purchase if it will depreciate by thousands as soon as I've walked out the store. Sorry

That's your third critical comment (implied) in this thread in a row. That just seems unnecessary... let people talk dollars/cents if they want to. Most of us are just here to see the pretty pictures.

I like and wear my watches - I have rarely lost money on them and ejoyed them a lot while they were in my possession.
I've been made redundant at work 3 times in the last 15-20 years so nice to know I have enough in my watches to keep me going for a year or so - when it happens again

I visited a local Omega dealer today and they had a used TinTin. Sticker $11,000. They said it was bought online because they wanted a “Showpiece” for the store. They claim it’s been a nonstop conversation piece and have had many offers in the last 24 hours on it. The price was firm. Very interesting.
