the fact that there are 2,100 posts on this Tintin thread and 239,000 views tells me curiosity and probably demand for it is pretty legit
The dealer I bought my TinTin from for $9500 said it was the second most requested watch from collectors behind the Silver Snoopy. He said he sells them quicker than he can get them and only ever had access to one NOS copy which I picked up. 2019 I think will be the end of availability for the TinTin so I reserved mine while I could. Unworn versions that have warranty cards and pictograms will be down to zero .
I am curious how many NOS with 5 year warranty are out there. I got mine in October. The new warranty was an unexpected bonus.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL of YOU!!! I don’t know -personally- any of you but our “common LOVE” for (guess what... ) makes me consider you as my FRIENDS and so I wish you all the best, health and enjoy “our precious” in our wrist
Yes....you are correct....it was an OB salesman. BTW...I'd imagine he got several pretty good looks of it since it was off my wrist and we were comparing NATOs to purchase.
I’ve been tracking sales on EBay and something wacky is going on - there’s definitely been a run on these. The 3 NOS TinTins from the UK seller ($9200/each) are all taken off and now show as “reserved” on its own website. There was one used watch for sale at $6880 today that’s now gone/sold. There are only 3 TinTins currently for sale on EBay whereas earlier this week there were 5 or 6. The ones remaining are one NOS for > $10k and 2 Used for $7.8k and $9.9k, respectively. I thought we had seen a lull, but maybe the mania is just getting going...
Just looking at ebay sales over the last 3 months, the price has been going up. That september sale of $5900 was a new high for ebay (used). Then we saw a few sell in the mid-to-upper $6k range. The most recent used sale price of $6200 (just last week) might imply a downward trend, but that was just a one-off because the seller accepted a best offer (poor idea in my opinion--lost hundreds of dollars). I'd seen the NOS pieces at those high prices and hadn't considered that they were being pulled and sold elsewhere. It strikes me as odd that they'd sell for a high price on watch resale sites, but not on ebay. I'm guessing they were listed lower elsewhere? A maximum ebay sale fee of $750 isn't exactly chump change. That's kind of disappointing. I'd have probably pulled up the model on my phone to rub his face in it--but I guess I'm not as nice as you are
All three sold yesterday. I have one slightly used one left, which I sold new and its come back in that's not on my site yet. To think back in 2013 I paid £1900 for mine BNIB!
Bought mine 15% below retail price as a gift to my wife (her choice, she found it very fashionable) back in 2015. Nobody wanted them would you believe it now ?
I just sold another one to the UK for 7000usd 2 days ago. It was a used full-set, but in mint condition.
Hello, New member to chime in... I got a NOS from an AD in Hong Kong yesterday with the new 5-year warranty from Omega. I feel fortunate =)
