Because a) if you need to ask such a question, there's other things you're likely to miss, which a picture will show us, and b) we like to see pictures so if you're asking for help and three people ask to see pictures, the polite thing to do is post some.

Unless of course it's a watch you're looking to sell not buy and you don't want pictures of it being criticised on the internet.
