Yes that’s a much later dial, most likely acquired in a service of the serial is in the correct range for a -78 and it’s not a mismatched caseback.
Well, it came with a service replacement caseback (“145.002” and underneath that “345.002” -- presumably doing double duty and serving both references?). However I have since sourced a -78 caseback for it from a member here as it clearly seems to be in the right range. (Although it could be post-78: the 44 million serials seems to be all over the place: I've seen EoAs ranging from 1978 to 1984.)
It's had a hard life but it was very cheap and I do really like it, so happy to have it and (more importantly) I love it and wear it almost all the time.
