Certainly worth seeing. You can also get a good idea of value at ilovemyspeedmaster.com if you have the model and serial number.

I wasn't aware of that site - I was told to guard my serial number but entered it anyway. $8000-$14000 trade for good/very good which is about what I thought

Ok here it is..

What I know about it:

321 movement
Case no 145 012-67 Asymmetric
Ser no: 25 007 23x

Bracelet 1039 type 13, type 6 end links, dated qtr 2/ 69 - A replacement?

Bought by my father late 70's. My father was an officer in the army and often bought high end items from junior soldiers who needed quick cash.

I doubt the original owner had it serviced since they were young. My father was as mean as they come and I know he never serviced it. So I'm pretty certain it's all original apart from the possible replacement bracelet. He rarely wore it.

Anyway here's the pics

I would suggest it has been serviced at some point as the lume has crumbled off the indices and would be all over the dial if it hadn't been removed. As as result it is not the nicest dial but on the plus side it has very valuable bracelet and specifically the No 6 end links, the bracelet is period correct but the endlinks are actually from an earlier watch and at 19mm not a great fit, hence the gap. Those add a lot of value. It has a replacement crown too, looks like the 32 tooth maybe. The bezel is very nice. I would put the overall condition as Fair at present, it might be a candidate for a sympathetic relume.

Yes the end links are marginally narrower than the bracelet. I'm not sure I can agree that the lume has crumbled off/ It looks very even on all indices, nothing missing as far as I can see. Also I'm almost certain that my dad never had it serviced though it may have undergone a repair - he would have stumped up for that. So if any has fallen off, no more was shed for many years now. Under light most of it lumineses briefly. How many teeth should the crown have?

See the white areas on the indices? Those should be beige similar to that on the hands, the beige patches are the remaining lume, large areas are missing. Look at the 2 o'clock index, that has the most lume remaining. Its completely gone from some of the others. It is a nice watch but the dial isn't great. A dealer would likely replace the lume with aged compound, I probably would myself were it mine.

If you are just looking to sell, the best course is to probably separate the bracelet, end links and head and list all 3 on ebay.

The original crown would have been the 24 tooth flat foot. I can see enough to think that the one fitted is a later replacement as the logo feet have the upward flicks not present on the flat foot. Maybe it had a service in the 70s before your father bought it.

Not sure I want to split it and end up with part sold but thanks for the suggestion. If I was to replace the end links what are the correct one's.

As you suggested the crown is a 32 with upward flicks. However I came across a post in which @pitpro provides evidence that the crown might be genuine for a '67 and has a pic of a NOS 67 with the same crown. https://omegaforums.net/threads/spe...-a-later-replacement-see-picture-thanks.9115/

It's a bit of minefield all this.

And it’s not good/very good either.
For the reasons stated above.

youd be looking for 516 or 16. The number 6 ones are quite valuable so you could sell them to fund the correct ones.. which won’t be cheap either.

I think it’s a great watch especially with the history of your dad.
