Hi All
New to the forum and apologies if this is incorrect. I have noob question.
I have a Speedmaster Pro 3861 and I have been trying to get the right fit with the bracelet. I finaly have the right amount of links fitted at the 12 and 6 so the clasp sits in the correct place. however if feels a little tight. If I add a link it is too loose, with the comfort setting out it feels right. There is room for my wrist to expand during the day

Is it bad to have that out all the time?

I'm thinking I'll just need it during the summer once it's cooler my wrist shouldn't expand so much. Or to I go and buy the rubber strap.

Thanks
CJ

I'm not familiar with that specific bracelet, but something that works for me with many bracelets is to reverse the 12 and 6 lengths. My wrist (and, from what I've read, most wrists) is not symmetrical, and changing the "direction" of the clasp can sometimes result in a better fit. That probably means switching a few links from one side to the other, and you have to be okay with the Omega logo being "upside down."

no, it will not be a problem to have the extension out all the time - that is what it is there for, to provide that small amount of extra room. I was able to fit by Speedmaster bracelet without needing it extended consistently, but on my Seamaster 300 I have to have it extended one step most of the time - and I’ve been wearing it that way for 3 years.

No issues having the link out all the time. Another option is getting a 1.5 link from Uncle Straps, that way you could adjust the bracelet to the same fitness you have now with the possibility of extending the half link if needed.

Uncle 1/2 links is a great solution. Worked well for me on my 1861 bracelet

Just had a look at these and that's a good shout.

I bought one of the 1 1/2 links but did not like it - it was not as flexible as I expected. It was basically a fixed link, just a la little bigger than the standard. I assumed the half link would move independent form the main one, but I was wrong. Or mine was not correct.

Either way, I’ve found it pretty easy to get the correct fit with the standard bracelet.

I wish they didn't call it a comfort adjustment. I think of it as two micro-adjust positions. If you like your bracelet just so, and having it on the longer setting gives you the best fit, that is perfectly fine.

I got the Uncle Straps 1/2 link for my BB58. Very useful. It's a missed opportunity for watch makers like Rolex, Tudor, and Omega that don't typically make them.
