I have also converted mine with help of a colleague pretty good in DIY. We made 8 watch compartments instead of 10, I think 5 watchess across are too close together and there is big thread of one touching & scrathing the other. With 8 compartments they have plenty of space. There are no good pillows that we found for such config (usually they were too small), so we tailor made proper pillows to fit the compartments perfectly.

If you have the box PM me for contact details of a guy who can make you the insert. My box will be for sale (see "parts & accessories" section of the forum).

Here some video & pictures:

Very excited to be able to contribute to this one as this project has been a goal for a while now. This was delivered a few days after Christmas and I’m thrilled.

Wow, these boxes look fantastic, folks.

As do some of the speedies sitting in them!

So.... I've really started to love that Broad arrow speedmaster. There's really only one speedmaster I like more... and of course you have it top left.

Beautiful watches.

Thanks! Yes the “replica” is becoming a community favorite. It’s quirky and beautiful. The dial and hands are indentical to the CK2915, apart from the superluminova ofcourse.

You mean the Ultraman on the top left? Great watch in the sun! In the watchbox it doesn’t stand out. During GTGs it’s a bit of an underdog.

Heavy hitters (my box top left)

My inner nerd tells me your next project will be a Panerai. ☺️ What an extraordinary and wonderful collection this is. Respect!

No sir! Panerai is not for me. Nor Patek, just can’t connect with it. Highly overrated. Even the owner of the Pateks stated that it’s not worth the current market price and hardly retail for the 5070P, with the poor finishing of the platinum case. Broken dreams lol.

Fantastic. I own mostly Seamasters, and this thread is giving me all sorts of bad ideas for the Seamaster 1957 box with the corduroy 😀

Yes.... after seeing the ultraman, I'm just completely underwhelmed by any other moonwatch, regardless of cost. That orange is exactly the right shade, and subtle enough of a counterpoint that it is just... gorgeous. It really does something for me, although I doubt I'll own one anytime soon.

Yes- I'm new(er) when it comes to diving into all the variations and subtleties of the speedmaster, and I first saw this ref recently. I really like the broad arrows, and the steel bezel gives it a completely different feel. That's definitely a speedmaster I'm planning to hunt for.

Nice. I prefer 8 compartments though, because the watches are not too cramped and you have plenty of space from one case to the other without risk of crown scratching the neighbour (especially if you have a few pieces on a larger side). Great job anyway!

i was also toying with the idea of 10 but I, like you would thought that it would be too cramped with the watches to

Exact sentiments too… that’s why I went for 8 instead

Indeed! If you are only using them for the Speedmaster Pro (42mm) and smaller case sizes, 10 are fine. If you own larger watches that you want to put in this case (like the Apollo 8, Dark Side etc), then 8 is better.
