·Hi Guys
My first post on here. I am new to the world of Speedmasters, i was fortunate enough to recently recieve a Mark iii as a gift and have spent far too much time over the past few weeks reading up on the history. The one catch to my new volcano is that it strangles my wrist like i imagine a snake would after coming across a bush pig after a five day slither through the desert.
From what i have read, i think i should expect to find a 1162/172 bracelet on this Mark iii. I dont know what i have instead but it doesnt seem to be that. I need an extra link for the bracelet i do have or maybe i should look at buying a 70's 1162/172 bracelet instead.... to take the watch back to its roots. There doesnt seem to be any marking on the bracelet - no numbers in circles etc, only what looks like "J/M" to the top left of the STAINLESS STEEL and Omega stamps.
So the help i need is....
1. What bracelet is this?
2. Is my asumption correct that this is not the original bracelet?
3. How much should i expect to pay for a 70's 1162/172
4. How much is bracelet i have worth?
