I recently acquired this mk ii. The bracelet clasp seems unusual to me. It has the raised omega logo and is marked 1171 with 11 in a circle stamped on. However it also has a fastener that I have seen on the 1159 bracelet but not on 1171 before. End links are 175.
Would just like to know if this type of bracelet was ever fitted by omega to the Mk ii and also why the clasp fastener is different to other 1171s I have seen.
    Thanks,

Thanks for the responses and the link. It would seem from the link the clasp is the earliest execution of the 1171 bracelet. However it also looks like 1171 was never fitted to the mark ii so somewhere along the line someone has put a nice vintage but apparently incorrect bracelet on the watch. Have to say this bracelet feels way more substantial than the modern 1171s.
    Cheers,
    Tony

1171/175 was usually not fitted on MKII, but everything is possible. Especially if serial number is >30M. At that time most of the bracelets were fitted by the dealer at the customer's request.

Ah thanks, I was wondering if the bracelet could have been dealer fitted. Will check out the serial and see if that is a possibility.

Hi, that bracelet was used in Omega Seamaster 176.005 model. I have a couple of those but with leather straps and wanted to buy an original steel bracelet1171/175. Omega doesn`t produce them anymore, and they said that 1162/173 fits to 176.005 even it was originally for Speedmaster MK 2. If you want an original bracelet, you can order 1162/173. (and sell 1171/175 to me)

Congratulations with your mkII, mine is original(minus display back) and was sold with the same bracelet clasp combo. Throughout the years I’ve seen many with this combination. DF6E469D-2D6E-4ED4-A575-E6496482B9B9.jpeg

Edit: I don’t see any end link nr’s on your example, it could be a newer 1171 bracelet with an old clasp.

Edit two: it looks like some marks from a tool so I think it is a new bracelet with an old clasp

Thanks for the updates, I sold the watch and bracelet a few weeks back.
Without wishing to open another can of worms I just bought another Mk11 and this one has a 1383 raised logo clasp bracelet with 173 end links. Anyone heard of one of these bracelets on a Mk11 before?, cannot find much about this reference anywhere.
