But wait, that's precisely what's unique... it's Pesky, a Slip, and it seldom happens because it's Here and There but not everywhere.
This must be a huge and widespread problem as I just saw the same problem on some other well known forum. 😉
No… It’s unique when it seldom happens. But modern high-turnover Omegas (300M Diver and Moonwatch) have their fair share of QC issues. Hand misalignments, stuck clasps, blotchy lume, printing issues, date wheel alignment, etc.
It sometimes seems like 50% of the posts in the Modern Omega forum are complaints about QC issues by new members who are never seen again.
Otherwise, questions about what strap looks best.
So when does a defect actually increase the value and collectable status of a watch? I'm confused...
I understand that this is a QC slip up and if it was me I'd want that case back replaced under warranty. However, I understand that some vintage Speedmasters with the erroneous "225" bezels are considered "rare" and "collectable". It could be argued that the "225" bezel was a QC slip up as well. So when does a defect actually increase the value and collectable status of a watch? I'm confused...
When it has the name 'Rolex' on the dial. Otherwise these small 'defects' don't do much to the value of a watch (+ or -)
