Noticed while browsing the local AD this weekend that I fell into the trap of comparing everything to the speedmaster. I would look at a watch and no matter how much I liked it I would just think to myself that the speedy while not faultless, is the nearest to perfect watch possible in my opinion.

Maybe I should just collect speedys and be done with it.

i came to the same conclusion ; to just collect speedy.
1. their popularity - many ready markets to trade them
2. the dazzling variety available of the limited editions
3. the robustness of the movement
4. they hold their value pretty well
5. the history.

So many watches out there to try on and possibly buy but believe I've also caught Speedmasteritis.

Purchased my first in January, the Apollo 11 50th. I'm now saving for the next, at least 3 are on my radar 馃う
* current speedy professional
* 145.022 69 Straight Writing
* hopefully a Snoopy 50th celebration

... oh, then there's the Speedy Tuesday's... 馃が

I'd also like to try on a Globemaster for a modern twist to my 168.0065 Japan Constellation and then, a vintage version of my Breitling, a 1950s Transocean B126.

Still, coming up with how to afford all these wonderful pieces... 馃槜 but to me, that's part of the chase.

I'd recommend going for a Speedmaster Decades Collection. It's Speedmaster from each decade you have lived. It took me about 5 years for me to complete.

I'm a sucker for a Speedmaster. But, I will admit to having a couple of Seamaster watches for when I go on vacation to the beach.

I could think of worst things to collect. Really, a lot of the fun is the research and learning about these things, and of course, the chase. My little brain is full, so I only have one Speedmaster.

I still remember that one Japanese player for the Yankees collected adult DVD鈥檚. He had over 10,000 DVD鈥檚.

I startet out collecting speedmasters only. I have other watch models now, but I just keep coming back to them. They are my favourite.

EEK 馃槻

A 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's (bought Speedy Pro in 2019), 20's (on order 50th and 321)

So, excluding the ones on order that leaves me with 5 to get including the oldest ones, wonder what the wife will say if I hint at buying all these watches, and what's the cost going to be 馃憥
