My DSOTM arrived yesterday, and rather than posting a whole new review, I went back and re-read Karalhoin's excellent post and can't agree more. From my perspective as a novice luxury watch buyer, I feel that there is a lot of craftsmanship that goes into this thing, and seeing its beauty in real life well surpasses what any photo or description can convey. It's definitely something I wear with pride.
Prior to this arriving, I thought about buying an aftermarket strap with the red stitching on the outside (as he mentioned above, it's only on the inside of the wrist strap), however now I think it's a well-designed approach. For me, one of the main reasons why I liked the DSOTM instead of the GSOTM is that it is truly a understated "sleeper" -- unless someone knows what it is, it can pass for an ordinary watch and is not flashy in any way (I think the black face draws less attention than the Gray Side's color)... and an external red stitching would end up calling additional attention.
Upon first wearing the watch, the strap was mildly stiff; enough so that I was reminded it was on my wrist. After 1 day it has conformed nicely and I barely notice it. The ceramic-titanium clasp is beautiful... taut, solid, clearly engages, and seems like it would hold up well. As Karalhoin mentions above, the titanium is on the inside and the outside is ceramic.
My only regret is not being able to wear it everyday due to my work. Now I'm looking for a reliable winder that will take care of this thing... and the Omega box itself is so beautiful that I wish someone would design a winder that would fit inside!
