I tried a google search and an OF search (as well as speedmaster101) and could not find exactly what I was looking for so apologies if already discussed...

Are all 145.022 reference cases (69s,71s,74s, 76s, 78s) exactly the same (not talking about case backs) ?

    Thanks a lot
    Scott

On all commonly available Speedmasters from that era they are all made by Huguenin Freres and should be the same, as far as I know.

I would say yes. BTW 145.022 is a case reference so as long as they are 145.022... ::rimshot::

That begs the next question : what about those cases compared through the line up until today (ignoring the laser-etched SN)?

The 3573, 145.0811 case is different, but only slightly. ;)

I believe they are the same. There are variations on tolerances and some will not take service parts.

The newest of the new might have different caseback threading. Ie NIAD backs.

They are different from the side profile, if I'm not mistaken .

There are pics here showing the difference but I can't find them now... will keep looking .

Whoops forgot to mention sapphire and hesalite cases are different as the crystal is differently shaped.

Do you mean that the 70s models are different from the side profile or are you talking about modern vs old side profiles? I'm mostly curious about the differences of 69-70s cases, if any.
