Since this watch (the 331.22.42.51.01.001) is $11,000 and has gold accents, hopefully the anniversary watch will have even less gold (if any) at $9,600. Personally, I wouldn't mind a gold/black bezel if it's subtle. Fingers crossed it is something really special.

Gosh, let's hope it looks better than that.

there will be 6,969 of the watches in two-tone ONLY (moonshine gold)

Normally I don't like two-tone watches either, but the Apollo XI 45th Anniversary worked really well IMO. As does the Apollo XV 35th

So I'm still waiting to see what they've got. 6,969 is a lot of units though and I'm not sure I'll want to purchase at MSRP....

1014 pieces limit. $34,000.

I am not a "watch guy". I've never owned a nice one, and I'm wearing a Timex as I type this out. But the technological aspect of mechanical watches interests me as a mechanical engineer, and I like history, and I love space and Aviation.

The center of that Venn Diagram brought me to the Speedmaster Pro when I was in college. I turn 30 this year, and I've been waiting for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 to give to myself as a birthday present, mark a next chapter in my life, and keep as an heirloom.

Then I see this.

Not only is this the ugliest SpeedyPro I've ever seen, but it is so far beyond my budget I couldn't even buy one if I wanted to.

This is the most disappointed I've been in quite a while.

I am sorry, but I don't get your point. If I were to list all the watches I find ugly, I would not be done by sunset. For your info, this is one of the two watches Omega will release for the 50th anniversary.

True. Preference is personal. For me I think it's beautiful. For gold Speedmaster, only thing more beautiful would be the 1969 original with patinated gold and burgundy bezel🥰
