Speedmaster and Submariner Comparison.

I think the Speedy Pro and the steel no-date Sub (especially the 14060(M)) have the same "personality" - no-nonsense, works well with everything, top of their respective classes. I have a 14060 incoming to replace the one I regrettably sold a year ago. If I could only have 1 watch, it would be the Sub simply because dive watch construction makes it better for beater duty. If I could only have 2, I would have both.

Great username

I'm waiting for somebody to use HoroSapien or something catchy like that so I can put a bad pun like "the missing link" in their avatar message.

very detailed, - nice write up.

I owned both but got rid of the Sub after a month of owing it... just way to common out in the wild.

Can't go wrong either way. I wore my 69ST, 3570 and 16610 his week and could not fault any of them.

For the most part the Speedy and the Sub have earned the right not to be compared to anything. Both fantastic in their own ways.

Great review! To me, both are similar yet far apart watches!

I had this choice in the sixties when my choice of 21st birthday present came down to a Speedy or a Sub which at the time both cost around 拢65.
I chose the Speedy because I was and still am a motor racing fan and used it for timing in period. Later in life when I took up sailing I did wonder if I had made the right choice but I used the Speedy with no ill effects.
Value wise of course I would be pushed to justify the cost of an 'Ed White' now. I have no idea what a 1967 Submariner might be worth in comparison!

I personally bought a speedy and a gmtii pepsi, this pairing feels very versatile for "active wearing"
That's my rotation!
I love them both and switch between the two almost daily.
