I saw this model today at a boutique. Just when I decided the blue dial version was my next one, the agent whipped this one out and screwed up my whole thought process!
It truly is an outstanding look. Congrats on getting it!

Thanks!

I know people say this about a lot of watches, and it's true, but pictures really don't do it justice.

There are so many angles and ways that light interacts with the crystals that I started noticing after I got it.

I was going to create my own post, but decided to just piggy back off of this one. After almost a year deciding which modern Omega I wanted to make my first, I opted with this Speedmaster '57 broad arrow. I've done a ton a research (thanks to many of you here!) and went to the boutique twice to check it out. I finally pulled the trigger this weekend. It's a pretty fantastic timepiece. Now I just need to resist thinking about the next one...

Ain't that a kicker?
You get what could arguably be the only watch you need, with few that could be better (usually just more expensive), and you start looking for the next. Crazy sickness we have!
Yours is a fantastic watch. Enjoy the honeymoon. And if you don't think of the next watch, I'm certain this will be waaay satisfactory!

Took some pictures the other day. Thought I would share.

For reference, my wrist is about 7.25-7.5

Straps aren't broken in at all, so they look uncomfortably tight. Been wearing the tan strap all week. Probably my favorite.

Great choice, congrats. And I just love how perfect all those straps match the watch colors !

I love the see through caseback on this watch so much more than the see-throughs of the Speedmaster Professionals. The 57's see through case back is larger and doesn't have that metal outline with the cheesy "approved for all manned flight missions etc etc" on the border.

I love the watch, but am I the only one who hates mixed polished/brushed bracelets? I've got a Zenith with the same "issue" that I'm planning on brushing out entirely. I'm curious how it would look on this watch though... Any new owners want to give this a try?

Nah, I'm in the same boat and it's probably the only reason I haven't purchased a SM300 MC yet. I don't mind small amounts of polishing, but the large bands of polished and brushed surfaces alternating (like the SM300 MC, modern Daytonas and GMTs) really aren't to my aesthetic liking.
Getting it brushed afterwards is always an option, but polishing the bracelet back to original condition in case the watch needs to be sold would present a problem since there's only so much steel material to work with on bracelet links.
That being said, I think the new 57 like the OP's would look incredible if the bracelet was all brushed. As it presently stands it's a very striking piece, but the stainless steel bezel works better with fully brushed surfaces on the bracelet IMO.

There are SM300 owners who have brushed the bracelet fully (had it done professionally) and it looks nice. If the initial brushing is done properly, it would be easy to make it polished again without removing a lot of material. Personally I would not let that stop me from brushing it if I owned one and didn't like the PCL's.

Cheers, Al

Thought I would chime back in after wearing it everyday for a few weeks. It's been on the bracelet for roughly 90% of the time, and while I am very wrist aware, it has picked up a few scratches. Surprisingly the one really noticeable scratch is on the brushed center portion of a link and not on the outer polished parts.

I will say this, PCLs and how they look tend to be exaggerated in pictures. While I'm actually wearing it, I rarely notice and unless it's in direct sunlight, they don't really come across as a highly reflective and polished surface.

They have definitely grown on me. I still prefer more brushed surfaces, but since this bracelet is the opposite of how the other variations of the this watch look, I like it.

Overall, I couldn't be happier. I'm not an impulse buyer of something as personal as a watch and this particular one has brought a smile to my face every time I look at it. I've been wearing it all day from the moment I step out in the morning to when I'm about to go to sleep. There are other watches including a ceramic sub lying around, but I honestly don't want to wear anything else right now.

Here is a picture from the 5th that I liked.
