It would be interesting to know the approximate serial number range when that change occurred. The lume on my ‘69 Straight Writing is a very pale yellow.

For sure that since at least mid 71.

Do you have the extract?

My 220 bezel with lime green lume is Sept 70 by EOA. Seems like they were using different batches of lume. Or environmental conditions altered the aging process ??

Could you tell me the first four digits of the movement?
I'll have to check. Will get back to you. Not home at the moment.

The greenish colour is not unusual for a '71 and have had a few with lume that colour for sure. the painted off centre lume away from the white reflective paint is very unusual. I say it's a bit off a toss up between a QC issue and a relume - but the genital marker (for want of keeping it polite) at the twelve position looks like it was painted by a 5th grade. Still, I am tending towards a QC issue given the colour - interesting to see a lume shot as that would speak volumes. I suspect if someone was going to take the time to re-lume you would think it would be easy enough to stay inside the lines. I think Omega moved away from Zns based phosphorus (or tried a new hand maker) with the 145.022-71 and then moved back again not to much later, because from about 1975 on I see more cream/pumpkin type patina. The hands don't really fit colour wise - definitely an odd one.

I'm not as experienced as many others on here, but the fact that the lume seems to be so mis-aligned with the marker seems odd to me and I think that may suggest a re-lume (again, others are more experienced in this regard). Also, the fact that the lume on the hands is not the same color as the lume on the markers is also odd to me. That doesn't necessarily mean it's not original, but it does make the watch a little less attractive to me. There are plenty of other reasonably priced, nice examples out there, especially of 70s-era Speedies.

I did a follow up on this one...But didn't follow the auction...
Attaching pictures showing the dial again, but without the folie..

And it was sold for 5292 € / 5762 $ incl the premium!
The winner was on the floor, so he/she had time to check the dial/lume etc.

Maybe a Forum member..??
