Does anyone know anything about this dial? In moonwatch only I think it is the B4 dial but I can't find much context on it. Short indices and applied logo. Would this have been a service dial? Could it be original? What do you think of desirability?
These dials always have green lume and "fat plots" at 12 o'clock. I noticed that some 861 speedies produced around 1972-1976 also have a very similar lume, so I suppose that these service dials were made in the same period.
Thanks! I was reading that but got confused because the early service dials with the T SWISS MADE T which this seems to be didn't seem to have an applied logo, which this does. But I guess some of the early service dials must have, because this fits the rest of the description.
Is this a caliber 321 service dial? I found it among Speedmaster Parts that I bought from a collector on back-is engraved 2001 and a backward 2 over a capital J (Singer)
Looks the same as this one on Speedmaster 101 http://speedmaster101.com/blog/calibre-321-service-dials/
Yup. "Modern Omega Service Dials, for Calibre 321. The dial on the left has a double print of SWISS MADE. These dials would be the same as the ones fitted by Omega when they service a 321 Speedmaster at Bienne today."
I believe I have one these strange dials as well. Professional, raised logo, FLAT INSTEAD OF STEPPED, with TTs. It came attached to jumble of parts Speedie that I referred to in an earlier post as the "Mother of all Franken Speedies". Since breaking the watch down, the dial was revealed to have the smaller 861 feet. I also now believe this is a service dial from the 861 TT era, (1971 thru ??). See https://omegaforums.net/threads/the...eed-help-identifying-this-strange-dial.27894/ Original Franken Watch........very nice crisp CB case I might add!! Case has since replaced a polished version. Dial alone. Note the lack of space under the logo. Perhaps so few of these were made, quality control was lacking? Flat, no step Singer dial. Thanks to a heavy handed watchmaker along the way, one 861 foot and a piece of double sided tape.
These raised logo, flat TT dials have not, as yet, been included in the Speedmaster101 service dial Hall of Fame.
here's another strange one that I have been looking at that's not in the hall of fame? Stepped, S and p joined, with full indices, t's, and painted logo.
Would it negatively impact the value of a standard 145.012? Would this be something I should subtract for when trying to purchase? Super interesting stuff seeing all of these odd ones. Thanks!!
Another one just hit eBay too, http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111928817792Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Roughed-up bezel & wrong hands / crown
In my humble opinion, if this is your only speedy, or your only one of this reference, then the service dial is a draw back. If you have several each with its own nuance or qualities, then having one with a service dial is a nice addition to the collection.
I agree with you. This dial is "between two worlds" and has his own personality. With an orange chrono hand, it's a very nice combo.
Hi all, recently i saw on the bay this lot, the start lever belongs to a 321 caliber so i thought the stepped dial, a service dial with raised logo as well.
