Hey guys!

So I have a spare cal 1012 laying around and I was thinking on sourcing parts for a dynamic build or of some other watch. I want a watch that is period correct for the cal 1012 I'll be putting in it. Anyone got suggestions on what dynamic case reference I should be looking for/ dial/ hands. Maybe another reference number I can throw this movement in?

I know the cal 1012 ain't no 321, 861 or even the 56x series movements, but it will be a great side project! All suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

The problem with these projects is that cost-wise they are not too advantageous. Nowadays it is hard to get a NOS case for less than 120 Euros. A dial would be about 80 Euros; the bracelet for these costs not less than 80-100 Euros, and you would be hard pressed to find a genuine one for that price; then add plexi, hands, a correct crown and a service, and you are probably better off buying a complete Dynamic 1012.

In any case, the reference for the case is 166.175

You could as well try to complete a Cosmic 2000 with that movement:

Of course, there are also highly collectable divers which used that movement, but I suppose that getting from scratch all the pieces for a (non-watcho) SHOM or for a 1000 is next to impossible.

Thanks for the reply! Yea after doing a bit of research I think the dynamic isn't an economical option.

I think I will hold on to the movement and collect parts as they come up for the SHOM or the 1000. Wouldn't mind making this a 1 year project...

Oh wow! Ok well I'll let you know. I'm gonna try calling watchco and see if their number is still in service. If it doesn't work out I will consider selling it.

Nice case btw! Dial would be worth installing until a replacement is found obviously.
