Space-Compax - Am I Crazy?

I am considering buying a nice-condition Space Compax First Gen. I already have a mint Gen 2 Space Compax and love it, so would like to complete the set. See below photo since everyone loves a photo (this is the one I own, not the one I am considering).

.
On the First Gen that I am considering, everything seems original right down to the rubber pusher caps (a bit worn) and the UG-signed crystal. All works as it should except for a question on the crown. This is the one thing making me hesitate, because the seller has described it as "sensitive." I am awaiting additional information on what this means exactly and further validation that it sets and winds properly and screws down.

In the meantime, am I crazy to even consider this given the horror stories on this crown design? If it does go south, is there any chance of fixing it without converting to a different v72 crown set-up?

What signs exactly should I be looking for to determine if it is close to failing?

I have read a couple older threads about SC crown problems. Just checking to see if there is additional information out there.

Thanks!

You are perfectly sane.
Agreed I just can’t find any fault in this thought process no matter how I look at it and I tried pretty damn hard. To me it’s a done deal too much of everything is just enough.

!

For those of us who aren’t aware, can you expand on this?

If I had the funds to buy multiple Space Compaxes, I would scoop them all up. I would definitely consider the cost and time that would need to be input if the crown does indeed have those issues.

Thanks for the advice! I ended up buying it. It is nicer in-person than advertised (including visible reference and serial numbers, which were advertised as missing), so pleased about that. Photos are forthcoming.

Turns out the crown is fine, too, so much ado about nothing. Anyone who owns one of these beauties knows the crown is just a bit finicky when winding as it can sometimes pull in for the screw-down mechanism. Keeping just light outward pressure as you wind does the trick. One of the endearing idiosyncrasies of this unique model!
