is there anything that should worry me IN TERMS OF LEGITIMACY?

Any markings on the buckle components when you open the buckle? Do you own it? If so, probably a trip to your nearest Rolex dealer would be in order. If you are contemplating buying it, you should expect documents from Rolex as to authenticity. But still, only buy it if you can return it. As to the dial? I would not contemplate buying ANY Rolex on line, ever! But I would suggest a lot of your fears re: the dial, etc., will be allayed if there is proof from Rolex.

thx canuck - unfortunately the "deal" took an unexpected turn ... stolen pics from an ebay auction ... low-life-scumbag probably wears a big ass Diesel watch

it is a local S-american con-man who only seems to be working locally (prob. due to lack of language skills) ... nearly cost me a 2+2hr drive 馃槖

but the pics looked too nicely done to come out of there .. so I did a little dick tracy 馃槜

Or possibly a nice state-issued ankle bracelet. Sorry to hear that it didn't work out, but glad you caught on in time. 馃榾
