    Hi folks,

    I am new here. My name is Oliver, I live in Germany, and I have fixed my wanna-have-stare on a blue Speedy Date or Day Date, not sure yet.

    I have a question to you Day-Date-owners: is it possible to set the 24-hour-hand on the 9 o'clock subdial independently from the main hands? In other words, can it be set to display another time zone?

    And while I am at it: is it recommendable to buy via rakuten from Japan? Prices are more attractive there.

    Thanks in advance for any answer! Take care,

    Oliver

    No the 24 hour hand simply follows the main hands - it can't be set independently.

    @Al: thanks.

    @oddboy: Thx, I've seen that one, but the seller prefers domestic buyers.

    Is there an overview of the different versions of the day date that were made over the years and when what was changed? I've seen at least 3 or 4 around and would like to know the differences.

    Cheers, Oliver

    Just not a car I'd have expected to be popular in Germany

    No, definitely not, but I somehow like muscle cars, and since I cannot do much work on them on my own, I went for an early 4th gen trans am. The avatar is the latest model and not the one I have.

    There's a lot available on the web in terms of comparisons, but you'll need to put in the time to study and view them. Google the reference numbers, and you'll find a good discussion about the different day/date models with pictures on WUS Omega forum and probably here, too. For the day/date models, 3521.xx dates from 1993, the 3523.xx from1999, and the last iteration from 2007. There are differences in the dials, crowns, case backs, bracelets, bezels, analog date hand, movement caliber, and 24 hour hands. The 3221.xx models from 2007 on were increased from 39 to 40 mm, got 10 bar water resistance, COSC certification, and the crescent moon on the end of the date hand was replaced with an arrow head. I chose a watch from that last model group. Have fun web surfing.
