Since I there was a time change this weekend, I put a new battery in the Contental Can 1342 quarz watch.

Last fall, at the local 'Art in the park.' I got some cheap straps. One of the job lot of questionable buckels sans tang fit nicely.

No real place, reason or excuse to wear it though. (I favor the rat connie c-cased day/date quartz when the apple watch is not charged.) Still this came out nice and is a substantial watch, with some real heft to it, even if it is only gold capped.

Problem is i want and have on the way, more ...

Thats a nice one! Strap looks good and the watch even better, but what is the logo on the dial? Is it time for another mystery hunt?

Continental Can Company. They are fairly common service award watches. The color tells which division they were from. There is a thread on them here somewhere.

Continental Can Co made a lot of variants over the years, it seems like an initiative they applied to a lot of staff over a long period of time which is pretty cool. The US Steel is probably the only company presentation watch I see more than these.

I actually really like seeing these as they're a cool piece of history from a time when companies manufactured in the US and seemed to appreciate their workforce, especially those loyal enough to spend a large chunk of their life in the one place.

US Steel in particular was such an important company and part of Pittsburgh, contributing so so many major projects in the US, even as someone who's never visited PA it's a pretty cool story and something worth having as a piece of Americana.
