tmw57
·This one dates (as per the "date your iwc" website) from 1959-1960. It is a near mint piece with a few flaws. The configuration is somewhat rare as it is one of the earlier 853 movements with a non-date dial. The bar markers are less common than the dauphine markers, and reflect the light beautifully.
Case: unpolished with intact factory brushing. Under loupe (and high rez pics) I found 3 tiny dings on the outer rim of the case back, 1 tiny ding on the midcase as well. Several small scuffs and scratches as visualized in pics.
Dial: Lacquer surface is mint with no blemishes, marks or scuffs. Any imperfections are artifact or crystal surface imperfections. The bar markers have some surface oxidation, not seen with naked eye. The almond/pale yellow tritium dots are intact and in good shape.
Hands: Near mint with tiny scuff on the hour hand which can only be visualized under loupe. Hand lume is white/pale green. I believe the hands to be an older relume as they still have a minute or two of glow, whereas the dial lume dots only glow for a few seconds.
Movement: keeping good time but I have no idea of when it was last serviced so please assume it needs one. Some superficial scratches on the rotor.
OEM IWC buckle and alligator strap
This is the nicest 666 cal 853 I have seen, purchased from a trusted forum member, and I would love to give it a new home on this forum.
Now reduced to $6300 ONRO. Sorry, no trades. PP friends or bank wire.
