·This is my favorite iteration of the 666 date models and this is a nice one. The case and movement serial numbers give it a 1960 production date.
Dial: Flawless. And a piepan! There are two tiny pieces of hair on the surface one is outlined and near the 2:00 marker, the other at the 43 min. marker. I was unable to capture them in detail on the photos but under loupe it is apparent that they are tiny filaments (hair?) that are not embedded in the lacquer and that can be easily blown off when your watchmaker services it.
Case: Unpolished and in good condition. There are some superficial scratches and corrosion on the case back or I would have called the case "excellent".
Hands and markers: excellent with original lume that no longer glows.
Crown: OEM and correct for this vintage, but looks too new for a 60 year old watch so I will call it a replacement. Also, I believe that the stem is a tiny bit too long which leads me to conclude that yes, the crown was replaced at some point. Trimming the stem will take your watchmaker 15 minutes to correct.
Calibre: 8531 and looks to be in very good condition. Running well and starts with a shake of the wrist but I have not yet timed it. I have no idea of when it was last serviced so please assume it needs one
Buckle: OEM and correct for this vintage. Cool taupe alligator strap included.
This was a regular wearer for me and I will certainly miss it!
Just reduced to $4300 ONRO. pp friends or bank wire accepted. Fedex/Parcelpro to lower 48 is on me. Overseas will split shipping with buyer.
As always, thanks for the space OF.
